Job description

The R&D Data and Systems Administrator serves as a gatekeeper for data accuracy and ensures alignment with production Bill of Materials (BOM).

The R&D Data and Systems Administrator supports the review, understanding and compliance of all programs, policies and procedures contained in the Food Safety and Quality Management System. Responsible for reporting food safety issues observed so appropriate action can be taken. Understands role in food safety and regulatory responsibilities as required by the SQF Food Safety Code and reports any food safety concerns to initiate appropriate action.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

Maintain and be the subject matter expert of the Kagome ERP & PLM system.
Maintain R&D data set up and integrity inside the PLM system and ensure pristine data hand-off to the ERP system acting as gatekeeper for multi-plant creation of new ingredient items.
Procure, input, and maintain relevant vendor ingredient documentation (Specifications, Nutritionals, SDS, Initial Cost, etc.) through the Ingredient Initiation request Process.
Provide leadership and collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve processes/workflows, configuration, & requirements management for the Kagome ERP/PLM system.
Assist with training of all R&D users of the Kagome ERP/PLM system
Identify process and system gaps and recommend solutions to address and support implementation of improvements.
Ensure data integrity as ingredient substitutions and formulation revisions occur through the Management of Change process.
Maintain and update processes as needed.
Other duties as assigned by Management

POSITION DIMENSIONS AND QUALIFICATIONS

External Contacts:

Customers, Regulatory officers, Material Suppliers, Vendors

Education Level and Focus:

Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Data Science, or related field preferred.

Years and Type of Related Experience Required:

Minimum 3 years in a manufacturing environment, with strong PLM/ERP systems knowledge - materials, specifications and recipes creation/editing.

Ability to identify, champion, and implement new tools, processes, and technologies.

Administrative and Operations:

Knowledge and experience with PLM/ERP system(s) is strongly desired

Organize job responsibilities to complete work on a timely basis.

Computer skill using various software used for product development.

Travel Requirements:

to Kagome facilities and technical/industry conferences.

Physical Demands:

Sitting at a computer terminal, standing, and walking for long periods of time. May need to lift 25lbs.

Work Environment:

Working in both an office environment and food technology lab with moderate noise levels. May be exposed to some food related chemicals.
