Salesforce is looking for a Software Engineer (Senior Member of the Technical Staff) to join our growing Business Technology team. This is a key role in our BT Finance engineering team.

This is a hybrid role where one would spend time configuring, developing and testing Workday functionalities and integrations. In addition to Workday expertise, the individual should have knowledge of manually testing and expertise to leverage automation tools like Kainos.

You must have a solid background in Workday and other Finance applications with hands-on experience on Workday and a good understanding of industry best practices. You will be responsible for configuration, development and testing through all phases of the implementation lifecycle.

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver Workday enhancements to support our Workday implementation, covering both functional and technical aspects.

  • Closely work with the internal Workday support teams and business users to understand the business requirements, including working with 3rd party integrators.

  • Participate in product and feature design sessions with developers, designers, product managers and business systems analysts.

  • Develop Reports, Dashboards and Integrations using Workday tool sets.

  • Build test automation that is effective, scalable and maintainable using tools such as Kainos.

  • Participate in and contribute to code reviews.

  • Diagnose, track and manage quality issues to resolution.

  • Ensure product quality meets stakeholder expectations and responsible for creating test plans, test cases, test execution, and defect reporting.

  • Build and ship high-quality, production-grade software using modern engineering practices, with AI as a core part of your development workflow by pushing the boundaries of AI development tools to deliver secure, optimized, and high-quality code.
  • Design and orchestrate complex systems where AI agents integrate seamlessly into human workflows, driving efficiency and innovation at scale.
  • Contribute to building and maintaining the shared system context, an explicit repository of system designs, constraints, and standards that enables AI to operate accurately and reliably.
  • Critically evaluate code (human or AI-generated) for correctness, quality, security, and performance.

Required Skills:

  • Workday certification/ PRO: Workday Technical and Business process

  • 8+ years of implementation experience in Workday technology.

  • Working knowledge of Workday Security, Business Processes, Reports, Calc Fields, Integrations framework, Studio, WD extend, XSLT, Connectors & Document Transformation and BIRT.

  • Well versed with Workday Community and latest features/enhancements of Workday Releases.

  • Business analysis and requirements gathering abilities.

  • Experience in leading at least 2 full life cycle Workday implementations.

  • Working knowledge of data modeling design and relational database languages (SQL or SOQL).

  • Working Knowledge of Web Services (SOAP and REST), AWS Tech Stack.

  • Experience in defining test strategy, test plans, test cases, test execution and defect reporting for Workday or any enterprise ERP Finance software applications.

  • Ability to effectively communicate status and risk to the team and manager

  • Experience working with Agile/Scrum methodology.

  • A demonstrated, genuine AI-first approach to engineering - using AI to move faster, build fluency across the stack, and contribute well beyond your core specialty.
  • Experience using AI tools (e.g., Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, Codex, Cursor, etc.) in development workflows.
  • Advanced prompt engineering skills and the ability to write precise, structured prompts and cultivate the system context that makes AI outputs reliable, secure, and production-ready.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering or relevant experience.

Desired Skills:

  • Experience in Workday Financials (General Ledger, Receivables, Payables, Assets, Banking and Settlement)

  • Experience of working on other Workday modules like Accounting Center, Prism, Workday Extend.

  • Experience developing on Java or Force.com.

  • Experience with Version Control, Code Collaboration, and Continuous Integration Systems - GIT
