We are seeking a Senior Workday Solution Architect – Financials to join our team. This role will involve leading the design, implementation, and optimization of Workday Financials solutions while aligning ERP systems with organizational and regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in Workday Financials architecture, ERP migrations, and public-sector financial systems, along with a passion for delivering scalable, compliant solutions across higher education, public sector, and not-for-profit environments.


Job Title: Senior Workday Solution Architect – Financials
Location: Atlanta, GA (Remote – Local candidates strongly preferred; out-of-state candidates welcome)

Job Description:

The Senior Workday Solution Architect – Financials will be responsible for architecting, implementing, and optimizing Workday Financials solutions to support complex organizational needs. This role requires deep functional and technical expertise in Workday Financials, leadership in ERP transformation initiatives, and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders and implementation partners.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Plan and schedule team resources, oversee status reporting, and ensure completion of required documentation for team assignments and projects.
  • Analyze business requirements, develop work and project plans, perform gap analysis, and recommend solution options or alternatives.
  • Architect scalable and efficient Workday Financials solutions aligned with organizational goals and business processes.
  • Design, develop, and implement Workday Financials modules, including:

    • Core Financials

    • Banking & Settlements

    • Accounting Center

    • Revenue Management

    • Contracts-to-Cash

    • Record-to-Report

    • Procure-to-Pay

    • Grants and Projects

  • Optimize Grants Management processes, including Pre-Award and Post-Award, Effort Certification, Subawards, Salary Cap, and Award Budget Plans.
  • Lead and support ERP migrations from legacy systems (e.g., PeopleSoft) to Workday, ensuring smooth transitions and minimal disruption.
  • Collaborate with implementation vendors to design and optimize integrations using Workday Studio, EIB, BIRT, REST/SOAP APIs, and Prism Analytics.
  • Identify and implement Workday Extend solutions to address functionality gaps and improve operational efficiency.
  • Ensure compliance with US GAAP, federal grant regulations, and other industry-specific financial standards.
  • Design and implement security frameworks, data governance strategies, and Foundation Data Model (FDM) structures to support financial reporting and compliance.
  • Develop automated workflows for key financial processes, including payroll reconciliation, revenue recognition, expense processing, and subaward tracking.
  • Guide the development of advanced reports, dashboards, and analytics using Workday reporting tools, Prism Analytics, and Extend.
  • Supervise and mentor team members, providing technical guidance and leadership as a senior architect.

Required Qualifications:
  • 10+ years of ERP implementation experience, with at least 7+ years focused on Workday Financials.
  • 5+ years of experience architecting Workday Financials solutions with seamless cross-module integration.
  • Active Workday Financials certifications (valid through 2025 R1), including Core Financials, Banking & Settlements, Revenue Management, Grants Management, Accounting Center, and Contracts-to-Cash.
  • Advanced technical proficiency with Workday Studio, EIB, BIRT, REST/SOAP APIs, Prism Analytics, and Extend.
  • Proven experience ensuring compliance with US GAAP and federal grants regulations.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • 5–7 years of experience with multi-tenant Workday Financials deployments in public-sector environments.
  • 5–7 years of expertise designing and implementing Accounting Center for cash-basis reporting and advanced financial allocations.
  • 5–7 years of experience leading ERP migrations from legacy systems, including PeopleSoft to Workday.
  • Experience supporting higher education, public sector, or not-for-profit organizations.
