Position Purpose:
Key responsibilities include supervision of monthly, quarterly and annual accounting close processes, internal financial reporting, account analysis, payroll and cash disbursement support activities, and special projects. Internal contact with employees at all levels in the organization. External contacts may include vendors, auditors, banks and customers. Functions as a team member within the
department and organization, as required, and performs any duty assigned to best serve the company.
Responsibilities may include, but not limited to:
  • Supervise associates to include, but not limited to: staffing, training, coaching, performance management and problem resolution.
  • Supervise and participate in monthly, quarterly and annual accounting close for OpCo.
  • Perform and/or review complex accounting reconciliation and analysis.
  • Direct activities of teams responsible for general ledger accounting, vendor billing, cash reconciliation, fixed assets and related capital expenditure accounting.
  • Provide strategic recommendations for process improvements and efficient use of resources. Effectively lead team(s) through change.
  • Maintain integrity of general ledger Ensure transactions are performed within a sound internal control environment. Perform financial analysis as required. Prepare various ad hoc reports, conduct analyses, and complete special projects as required.
  • Recommend and ensure adherence to accounting policies. Prepare and review schedules for internal/external auditors in connection with reviews/audits.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned

Required Qualifications
High School Diploma/GED or Equivalent Experience
10 Years + Accounting experience, including supervisory experience in a high-volume transaction environment.
Strong understanding and application of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of internal controls and SOX compliance. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, as well as strong interpersonal, organizational and customer service skills required. Demonstrated ability to positively lead teams through change. Working knowledge and analytical skills to make independent judgments in relation to complex accounting processes and the business. Strong computer and analytical skills - High proficiency in Excel, working knowledge of Access.
Ability to prioritize and handle multiple projects/tasks in a high-volume, changing environment. Ability to maintain efficient and effective financial systems and procedures. Self motivated with ability to work under and meet strict deadlines individually as well as in a team environment. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees. Ability to work flexible hours as required.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelors Degree in Business, Accounting/Finance or related area of study
10 Years + Accounting and/or food service distribution industry experience.
SAP experience.
Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and/or Master's in Business Administration (MBA)
