Work-Study positions are federally funded, part-time positions. Each position will have a specific set of responsibilities that will be explained during the interview process.
We are excited to offer an on-campus job position for college students! This is a fantastic opportunity to gain valuable work experiences while balancing your academic commitments. We're seeking motivated students who are eager to john the Ivy Tech team!

Work-Study positions are federally funded, part-time positions. These positions are located on campus, internship-type positions are available for general office support, lab and technology support, and tutoring. They also require clerical, computing, and telephone skills. Each position will have a specific set of responsibilities will be explained during the interview process.
Duties will vary based on positions available.
To Qualify for our Federal Work Study program students:
Must be authorized to work in the United States
Must have a high school diploma or GED.
Students must be enrolled in at least 6 credit hours each semester.
Students must be making Satisfactory Academic Progress as determined by the Financial Aid Office.
Students must have a current and completed FAFSA on file.
Student must demonstrate financial need.
Selected candidate for employment will be subject to pre-employment
background checks, including criminal history check, and any offer of employment will be contingent upon that outcome. Official transcripts required upon hiring.

Lab Manager Duties

  • Weekly/Advance order input for Piazza, Sysco, What Chefs Want, Hillyard (chemicals).
  • Grocery stores lists for small purchases/specialty items.
  • Truck receiving, Amazon orders and receiving.
  • Economy Linen orders for events/towels.
  • Inventory/par stock-labs, freezers, coolers, dry stock.
  • Break down bulk meat, cheese, and fruit for freezing.
  • Organization of freezers, coolers, and dry stock areas.
  • Weekly organization and gathering of cooler/dry stock items for all 18 labs.
  • Freezer items pulled in time to thaw for labs.
  • Perkins items ordered/received/paperwork sent.
  • All delivery receipts are scanned and sent to SO weekly.
  • Equipment checks/pilot lights lit/shut off.
  • Edit orders when needed on a weekly basis.
  • Assign midterm and EOT cleaning duties for each lab (varies by semester/headcount).
  • Keep Culinary and Baking MOD/Temp Log forms updated.
  • Budget awareness.
  • Other duties as assigned.
