Hiring Department: Hospitality Management/Culinary Arts
Supervisor: Terri Jones
College of Southern Nevada North Las Vegas Cheyenne Campus
Work Hours per week: up to 20
Hourly Rate of Pay: $14.00
Position Description:
Duties are for anything needed to assist the department. This may include the following duties:
  • Assist with maintaining an organized, clean, and welcoming office environment.
  • Make copies, scan documents, and prepare materials as requested.
  • Help prepare materials for meetings, events, orientations, workshops, and department activities.
  • Use Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint, as appropriate.

Our services benefit: CSN students , faculty and staff, and the community outside of CSN
Work Experience in our Department supports the following Degree/Certificate Programs:
  • Hospitality Management majors with emphasis in:
    • Culinary
    • Pastry Arts
    • Food and Beverage Administration
    • Tourism, Convention & Event Planning
    • Gaming
    • Hotel

Required Qualifications:
  • Basic computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Ability to communicate professionally and courteously with students & faculty.
  • Ability to work independently as well as cooperatively with faculty and staff.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality when handling student, employee, and departmental information.

Be friendly, outgoing, and willing to learn; have a good understanding of diverse multicultural environments; be able to follow directions and communicate well; be punctual, reliable, and trustworthy.

• Show a financial aid eligible major (degree or certificate program) declared with the CSN Office of the Registrar, and
• Meet Financial Aid Satisfactory Progress after each semester/term to qualify for employment within the academic year, and
• Show degree compliant enrollment for each semester/term for which funding is desired.
• Be enrolled in at least 6 credits and meet additional eligibility requirements of the Silver State Regents Service Program for summer semester/term employment.
• *Student's cannot work another part-time position within NSHE at the same time they are employed as a CSN College Work Study student.
