Job description


Join the Mail Services team and play an important role in keeping campus connected. In this position, you will help ensure students receive their mail and packages quickly and accurately while supporting the day-to-day operations of a fast-paced mailroom environment. This is a great opportunity for students who enjoy staying active, working as part of a team, and interacting with others across campus.
Responsibilities
  • Assist with the processing of all incoming packages and mail for students.
  • Assist Mail Services Lead with labeling packages for pick-up or delivery into the parcel locker.
  • Load packages into the parcel locker; retrieve expired packages.
  • Accurately sort and store packages on the counters and shelves in the mailroom.
  • Provide customer service to students picking up mail or packages at the front counter.
  • Process letter mail into the student mail folders.
  • Assist Mail Services Coordinator with mail run/package deliveries as needed.
  • Assist Receiving Clerk with deliveries from various carriers as needed.
  • Perform occasional cleaning.
  • Perform other Mail Services-related duties as may be required by the Supervisor.

Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Student at Flagler College
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Strong verbal communication skills

CHARACTERISTICS PREFERRED
  • Dependable and punctual
  • Friendly demeanor

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Legible handwriting
  • Proficient with rules of alphabetization

WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Must be able to move (with assistance or with dolly/cart) packages weighing up to 75 pounds.
  • Climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping and repetitive motions.
  • Must be comfortable interacting with students, faculty, and staff.
  • Primarily indoors in a standard office environment.
