The Audio Engineer II reports to the Senior Audio Manager. The Audio Engineer II is key in delivering high-quality audio that aligns with the ministry's mission to inspire and encourage meaningful relationships with Christ through media. This position supports audio capture, mixing, and post-production for various video projects. This role ensures high-quality sound production across a range of studio, location, and live settings. Working closely with Senior Audio Manager, Producers, Directors, and Cinematographers, the Audio Engineer II contributes to achieving creative project goals while maintaining technical excellence.
This is an onsite role in Franklin, TN

Here's some of what you will be doing...
  • Capture, mix and process audio for video projects, including both location and studio production.
  • Set up, operate, and manage production audio equipment for shoots, ensuring readiness, functionality, and quality.
  • Assist with cleaning, editing, and syncing audio, including removing unwanted noise, pops, and other artifacts.
  • Record and edit voiceovers and pickups as required.
  • Cut and sync audio clips as directed by the Senior Audio Manager.
  • Ensure synchronization between audio and video equipment during live and recorded sessions.
  • Work with Producers, Directors, and the Post-Production Team to meet project-specific audio needs.
  • Support long-form and short-form content such as artist performances, narrative sound design, and marketing materials.
  • Collaborate with Team Members to source and implement music, sound effects, and timecode synchronization.
  • Provide feedback, communicate audio-related challenges, and offer practical solutions.
  • Select and recommend appropriate gear for projects in consultation with Senior Audio Manager.
  • Assist with maintenance and minor repairs of audio gear; coordinate vendor repairs as needed.
  • Manage and organize the audio library and sound effects databases for efficient access and use
  • Regularly screen final audio with Senior Audio Manager to align output with creative vision.
  • Participate in live audio event capture, including on-location and streamed events.
  • Maintain a clean and organized studio environment.
  • Maintain organized workflows, ensuring studio spaces are prepared and neutral for subsequent use.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Here's some experience and skills we are seeking...
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent training in audio engineering, sound mixing, or combination of education/training with relevant experience.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in audio production using Avid Pro Tools DAW.
  • Proficiency with digital audio consoles, microphones, and outboard gear.
  • Experience with live audio capture and post-production audio plug-in software from Waves, Avid, Plugin-Alliance, Melodyne, etc. and iZotope RX for Audio Restoration tasks. Basic DANTE knowledge is a plus.
  • A collaborative and flexible style, with a strong service mentality. Need to be seen as a team player.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to develop sincere business/ministry relationships.
  • Strong written and verbal communication and presentation skills.
  • Demonstrated commitment to the social sector with a passion for our mission and values.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment.
