Work In Spain information

What are the requirements to work in Spain as a foreigner?

To work in Spain as a foreigner, you generally need a valid work visa and residence permit unless you are a citizen of an EU/EEA country or Switzerland. Non-EU citizens must typically secure a job offer from a Spanish employer before applying for a visa. The employer often assists with the work permit application process. Additionally, you may need to provide proof of qualifications, a clean criminal record, and health insurance. Requirements can vary based on the type of job and your country of origin.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a professional working in Spain, and why are they important?

To thrive as a professional working in Spain, you generally need relevant educational qualifications, professional experience, and proficiency in Spanish or another required language for your field. Familiarity with local business tools, industry-specific software, and, in some cases, accreditation for regulated professions is important. Strong cross-cultural communication, adaptability, and networking abilities help professionals integrate and succeed in the Spanish workplace. These skills and qualifications are vital for effective collaboration, compliance with local standards, and building successful professional relationships in Spain.

What are some common challenges faced by expatriates starting a job in Spain, and how can they overcome them?

Expatriates working in Spain often encounter challenges such as language barriers, adapting to different workplace cultures, and navigating local administrative processes. To overcome these obstacles, it's helpful to take Spanish language classes, actively participate in team activities to understand local customs, and seek guidance from HR or colleagues about legal requirements and paperwork. Embracing Spain's collaborative and relationship-based work environment can also ease the transition and help build strong professional networks.

Job description

About Nutrient
At Nutrient, we're revolutionizing how the world works with documents. Our tools transform static files into intelligent, secure workflows, empowering businesses to innovate faster and smarter. Trusted by thousands of organizations across 80 countries-including Fortune 500 companies and public sector leaders-our products streamline processes, accelerate digital transformation, and unlock new possibilities.
Our platform supports nearly a billion end users globally across 80+ countries, including Fortune 500 firms, governments, and industry pioneers.
Your Role at Nutrient...
We're looking for a driven Account Executive to own a territory, build pipeline from scratch, and close new business across mid-market and enterprise accounts. You're a true hunter - energized by prospecting, qualifying, and creating deals rather than inheriting an existing book. AEs at Nutrient own the full new business lifecycle, from first outreach to signed contract.
You'll connect Nutrient's platform to real business problems, combining strong outbound instincts with the ability to articulate a technically complex product. The right person brings high energy, lots of grit, and thrives in a fast-paced environment where no two days look the same.
What You'll Work On...
  • Build and develop a territory of net-new prospects - driving pipeline through outbound prospecting and inbound qualification
  • Own the full sales cycle from first contact through close, including discovery, demos, pricing negotiation, and contract execution
  • Identify, qualify, and close mid-market and enterprise accounts with a consultative, value-led approach
  • Maintain accurate pipeline, deal activity, and forecasts in Salesforce - keeping data current throughout every stage
  • Partner with CS and Marketing on coordinated campaigns, regional events, and seamless post-sale handoffs
  • Deliver compelling product demos and presentations, clearly connecting Nutrient's technical capabilities to customer business outcome
What You'll Bring...
  • 2+ years in B2B SaaS or tech sales with a consistent track record of quota attainment - sustained performance matters more than a single big year
  • Significant outbound experience with proven success - you build pipeline from scratch and thrive in a hunter-first role
  • Ability to grasp and clearly articulate a technically complex product to both business and technical audiences
  • Strong closing skills and a disciplined approach to territory management, pipeline development, and forecasting; Salesforce and Gong experience a plus
  • High energy, hard-charging, and execution-focused - comfortable with ambiguity and able to operate without heavy process or structure around you
  • Lots of grit and a competitive edge - at ease in a hybrid environment with in-person team meetups and occasional customer-facing activity
Who Thrives Here...
At Nutrient, we're not just hiring for skills - we're hiring for mindset. The people who thrive here are:
  • Collaborators: You collaborate openly, listen actively, and prioritize team success over ego.
  • Hungry Learners: Rapid learning fuels progress and career growth.
  • Curious Thinkers: You dig deep to uncover the "why," valuing understanding over simply being right.
  • Self-Starters: You take action without waiting for direction, turning obstacles into opportunities with creativity and persistence.
  • Owners: You take responsibility for solutions and outcomes, always looking for ways to improve what's within your control.
  • Doers: You're energized by progress, motivated to create meaningful impact, and eager to tackle challenges.
Why You'll Love Working Here...
At Nutrient, we build tools that reshape how businesses and developers work with documents. Our culture is centered on continuous growth and collaboration - every team member has room to learn, innovate, and drive meaningful change.
Our Sales team has been recognised as a Top Rated Sales Org on Repvue (Raleigh-Durham), and for good reason - strong inbound pipeline, experienced and stable leadership, and a team with low voluntary turnover. AEs own the full new business lifecycle in a fast-moving, execution-focused environment where no two days look the same.
We're a globally distributed company backed by Insight Partners, with offices in the US, UK, France, and Austria. We offer competitive salaries, comprehensive benefits, and an annual global retreat. Past retreats have been held in Croatia, Spain, and Greece.
Nutrient believes in equal opportunity. We employ people from many cultures and countries, celebrate diversity, and are committed to building a team that represents a variety of backgrounds, skill sets, and perspectives. We do not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, age, marital status, national origin, ancestry, physical or mental disability, medical condition, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, or any other non-merit factor.
