Job description

Job Description

Partner Funds – Bring Your Team, Low Staff Turn-Over

Our client is a well-established international law firm with a boutique presence in Luxembourg, known for its client-focused approach. Currently specializing in Corporate Law, Banking & Finance, and Tax Law, the firm continues to grow both locally and internationally, with over 70 professionals across its network.

As part of its strategic growth in Luxembourg, the firm is seeking to welcome a Partner to lead and further develop its Investment Funds practice, with a particular focus on Alternative Investment Funds (AIFs). In this context, the firm remains quite open: Either you are already an established Partner, with or without your team and a client base, looking for all the freedom to put in place your own processes and department; or you are a very motivated experienced Counsel looking for the next step in your career.

This is a unique opportunity to play a key role in a firm that combines an international dimension with an entrepreneurial working environment, while still being mindful about work/life balance for its lawyers. As a result, the turn-over within the teams remains quite limited.

You will be instrumental in shaping the direction of the investment fund practice in Luxembourg, while also mentoring and coaching a growing team of talented lawyers. For confidentiality reasons, certain details have been omitted but we will be happy to discuss these with suitable candidates.

Your Responsibilities | Partner Funds – Funds – AIF – Law – Legal – Law Firm - Avocat

  • As Partner, you are in charge of your own team and department, establishing the procedures that are most pertinent to your client base while ensuring they are still streamlined with the firm’s way of working.
  • In the beginning, you may be asked to also intervene operationally on certain files, ensuring the clients are satisfied and you can establish a loyal client base. You act as an advisor for your clients as well.
  • Depending on whether you would bring your own team or recruit fund lawyers, you are responsible for supervising and training one or more associates.

Profile and Career Path | Partner Funds – Funds – AIF – Law – Legal – Law Firm - Avocat

  • You are currently already Partner in the investment fund department in a law firm in Luxembourg, or an experienced Counsel.
  • You have acquired vast experience with alternative investment funds and are, technically speaking, an expert in your field. Experience with business development is also asked.
  • You value high standards of client satisfaction and are therefore attentive to offering a personalized approach with each one.
  • One of the following (or both) is a strong advantage: Being able to bring one or more associates to the firm (can be either junior or senior), and/or having a portable business portfolio.
  • Fluency in French and English is a pre-requisite, any other language is an advantage.

Offer | Partner Funds – Funds – AIF – Law – Legal – Law Firm - Avocat

  • According to your seniority and profile, you will be offered an annual gross remuneration that could reach 300.000 € allowing you to benefit from a comfortable lifestyle, and stability for the future years of your career. This amount, or your variable salary, may vary depending on your portable business or team to bring.
  • A highly flexible law firm perfectly describes our partner where homeworking and flexible working hours are included for the teams.
  • You will join an ambitious law firm where you will be responsible for a prestigious clientele and be able to avoid a boring work routine.
  • You will be part of an attentive firm where you will feel listened to, and you will have ample freedom in implementing or adapting processes that would suit your department best.
