They handle cases involving injuries from accidents, negligence, or other incidents, while communicating with clients, insurance companies, and courts using digital tools. Their work includes gathering evidence, preparing legal documents, negotiating settlements, and advising clients, all from a home office. This setup allows flexible scheduling and eliminates the need for daily commuting, while still providing comprehensive legal support.

How does a work from home personal injury professional typically collaborate with clients and legal teams remotely?

A work-from-home personal injury professional often relies on digital communication tools such as video conferencing, secure document sharing platforms, and case management software to collaborate with clients and colleagues. Regular virtual meetings and phone calls help maintain strong client relationships and ensure effective teamwork with attorneys, paralegals, and medical experts. While remote, maintaining organized digital files and clear communication is crucial to managing caseloads efficiently. Additionally, many firms provide secure remote access to case files and legal research tools, supporting a productive remote work environment.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a work from home personal injury attorney, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Work From Home Personal Injury Attorney, you need a law degree, active bar licensure, and in-depth knowledge of personal injury statutes and litigation procedures. Familiarity with legal research platforms (e.g., Westlaw, LexisNexis), case management software, and secure remote communication tools is typically required. Strong written and verbal communication, empathy, and self-motivation are key soft skills for client interaction and case management in a remote setting. These skills and tools are essential for ensuring effective advocacy, client trust, and efficient legal processes while working remotely.

  • Manage personal injury cases from intake through settlement or litigation.

  • Draft correspondence, demand packages, pleadings, discovery, subpoenas, and settlement documents.

  • Collect and summarize medical records, bills, police reports, and other evidence.

Job description

Equivity is seeking an experienced Personal Injury Paralegal to support attorneys handling motor vehicle accidents, premises liability, slip and fall, dog bite, wrongful death, product liability, catastrophic injury, workers' compensation, and other negligence-based cases. You'll join a long-term remote team supporting attorneys while receiving ongoing support from Equivity's operations and leadership.

This is an assignment-based opportunity designed for paralegals who value the flexibility of remote work and enjoy supporting a variety of law firms and matters across the country. As client needs evolve, assignments and workload may vary based on business demand. This role is a good fit for an experienced paralegal who values professional flexibility and is comfortable with a workload that can fluctuate rather than requiring a guaranteed number of weekly hours from the outset.

When actively supporting clients, responsiveness is important. Because client needs can arise on short notice, paralegals are expected to remain responsive to their active clients and Equivity managers within one hour during their stated availability.

If you're an experienced paralegal who appreciates autonomy, remote flexibility, and the opportunity to work with multiple legal teams, this assignment-based model may be a strong fit.

  • Manage personal injury cases from intake through settlement or litigation
  • Draft correspondence, demand packages, pleadings, discovery, subpoenas, and settlement documents
  • Collect and summarize medical records, bills, police reports, and other evidence
  • Communicate with clients, medical providers, insurance adjusters, courts, and opposing counsel
  • Track statutes, deadlines, treatment, and case milestones
  • Coordinate e-filings, depositions, mediations, hearings, and trial preparation
  • Assist with settlement administration, lien resolution, and case closing

About You
  • 3+ years of personal injury paralegal experience

  • Responsive during standard business hours (9:00 AM–6:00 PM)

Compensation and Work Structure
  • W-2 employment
  • Compensation: $26 per hour
  • Assignment-based work with client assignments determined by demand, qualifications, and availability
  • Assignment volume and hours may vary
  • Client assignments may take time to develop and are not guaranteed immediately upon joining

Benefits
  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance
  • Paid sick time
  • Annual performance bonus
  • 6-month performance review with potential pay increase
  • Expense reimbursement
  • Professional development opportunities
