As a work from home network administrator, you install, monitor, and maintain a computer network from a remote location. Your responsibilities include working to repair connections and troubleshoot when issues arise. A network administrator working from a remote location may develop security and connectivity procedures based on their client’s or employer’s needs. You install relevant software and either travel to the site to install hardware or have an onsite IT professional install it on your behalf. A remote administrator may work with a cloud-based system.
