Job description

Become a part of our caring community
The Process Improvement Professional 2 supports corporate and market programs by identifying opportunities to improve outcomes, strengthen compliance, and enhance operational effectiveness. This role partners with business stakeholders to research and analyze business processes, develop action plans, document workflows, and update policies and procedures in alignment with state contract and regulatory requirements.
The position applies data, process mapping, and quality assurance practices to support compliance and continuous improvement across healthcare programs, including long-term care. The Process Improvement Professional 2 also facilitates meetings, communicates process and policy updates, and collaborates with systems partners to improve internal documentation tools and ensure processes are clear, current, and effective. Reports to the Regional Process Improvement Manager.
  • Identify and execute process improvement opportunities that enhance outcomes and support corporate and market program performance.
  • Partner with business stakeholders to develop, implement, and track corrective action plans that ensure ongoing program compliance.
  • Research, analyze, and synthesize cross-functional inputs to define problems, validate root causes, and drive assigned initiatives to completion.
  • Lead process mapping and procedure development using structured project management and continuous improvement methods.
  • Interpret and apply state contract and regulatory requirements; proactively adjust processes to remain compliant.
  • Maintain and update policies and procedures to reflect contract amendments; ensure changes are clearly documented and adopted by impacted teams.
  • Collect, validate, and analyze operational and compliance metrics to identify trends, gaps, risks, and improvement opportunities; deliver actionable insights for leadership.
  • Develop and deliver decision-support dashboards and visual analytics.

Required Qualifications

  • 1+ years of experience in quality, performance, compliance, or process improvement, with demonstrated experience supporting operational effectiveness and quality assurance initiatives.
  • Project management experience.
  • 1+ years of experience with Microsoft Power Platform tools (i.e., Power BI, Power Apps, Power Automate, Tableau).
  • Up to 25% travel annually for training and site visits

Preferred Qualifications

  • Project Management Certification
  • Proficiency in understanding Healthcare related data/risk adjustment.
  • Excel proficiency, as defined by the ability to alter macros, create and use pivot tables, formulas, v-lookups, and charts.
Work at Home Requirements: To ensure Home or Hybrid Home/Office employees' ability to work effectively, the self-provided internet service of Home or Hybrid Home/Office employees must meet the following criteria: At minimum, a download speed of 25 Mbps and an upload speed of 10 Mbps is required; wireless, wired cable or DSL connection is suggested. In certain roles, the minimum recommended internet speed required by Humana may not be sufficient for business needs. Humana reserves the right to require associates to upgrade their internet service if necessary. Work from a dedicated space lacking ongoing interruptions to protect member PHI / HIPAA information.Travel: While this is a remote position, occasional travel to Humana's offices for training or meetings may be required.

The compensation range below reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting. The pay range may be higher or lower based on geographic location and individual pay will vary based on demonstrated job related skills, knowledge, experience, education, certifications, etc.


$65,000 - $88,600 per year


This job is eligible for a bonus incentive plan. This incentive opportunity is based upon company and/or individual performance.
