Job description

About the Role

Narrative seeks a Director-level senior analyst to join our Competitive Intelligence Division, leading and advancing the firm's landscape monitoring (i.e., media, policy, political, and market developments) and rapid-response capabilities across our client roster. This role owns the standards, operating model, and analytical quality of monitoring products firmwide, ensuring consistency, rigor, and reliability in both day-to-day and high-stakes environments.


The Director serves as a senior analytical partner to Client Services teams, helping identify priority signals, interpret fast-moving developments, and translate complex information into clear, actionable counsel for clients. They play a central role during "war room" situations, leading real-time monitoring and analysis when speed, judgment, and precision matter most.


In addition, the Director is responsible for stewarding and evolving Narrative's competitive intelligence technology stack-maximizing the value of existing tools while identifying opportunities to improve insight quality, speed, and operational efficiency. This role works cross-functionally with Creative, Insights, and Business Development teams to ensure monitoring outputs meaningfully inform storytelling, strategy, and growth.


Primary Responsibilities

  • Firmwide Monitoring Standards & Quality
    Set and uphold firmwide standards for competitive intelligence research, landscape monitoring, and analytical outputs, ensuring consistent quality, rigor, and reliability across all client accounts.
  • RapidResponse & War Room Leadership
    Own the activation, leadership, and output quality of rapidresponse and "war room" monitoring during high-stakes or fast-moving situations, delivering timely, insight-driven analysis for clients.
  • Senior Analytical Partnership to Account Teams
    Serve as a senior analytical partner to Client Services teams by tailoring monitoring approaches to client objectives, identifying priority signals, and translating developments into actionable counsel.
  • CrossDivisional Enablement
    Enable Creative, Insights, and Business Development teams by integrating monitoring outputs into storytelling, analytical frameworks, and proposals when elevated intelligence or context is required.
  • Technology & Platform Stewardship
    Own the effective use and evolution of the competitive intelligence technology stack, maximizing value from existing platforms while identifying opportunities to improve insight quality, speed, and operational efficiency.
