Director of Maintenance and Work Control
The Director of Maintenance and Work Control is a senior site leadership position responsible for the unified ownership, governance, and performance of the station's maintenance and work control programs, including work management, scheduling, site maintenance, service contracts, and facilities upkeep for the Kemmerer Power Station (KPS) and reports to the Plant General Manager.
This role is the single-point accountable owner for these programs, ensuring compliance with federal regulations, NRC requirements, INPO guidelines, ANSI/ANS standards, and site policies. The Director of Maintenance and Work Control governs standards, policies, resources, and performance necessary to protect workers, the public, the environment, and plant systems.
The Director of Maintenance and Work Control serves as the senior site authority for Maintenance and Work Management and is accountable to site leadership and regulators for program health, regulatory compliance, and long-term strategic capability of the site maintenance program.
Responsibilities
Program Ownership and Governance
  • Owns and governs the station's Maintenance and Work Control programs, including standards, policies, procedures, resource allocation, staffing models, work execution, and regulatory compliance.
  • Ensure work planning, scheduling, and execution are performed per regulatory requirements, quality assurance program requirements, and applicable procedures.

Executive Decision-Making and Authority
  • Has final approval authority for program standards, major policies, and procedures related to Maintenance and Work Control.
  • Has authority for work execution at Kemmerer Power Station.
  • Governs staffing models, qualification requirements, and training standards for the maintenance organization.

Integration and Strategic Leadership
  • Ensures full integration of maintenance requirements into operations, engineering, work planning, and construction/startup activities.
  • Provides executive-level technical and programmatic input to site leadership for maintenance on plant risk, plant conditions, and operational decisions.
  • Leads and coordinates responses of the maintenance department for plant events with emergency preparedness and site response organizations.

Operational and Resource Management
  • Develop and manages budgets and long-range resource plans for maintenance and work control programs, including personnel, equipment, spares, and facilities.
  • Owns performance monitoring, self-assessment, and corrective action programs for maintenance and work control functions.
  • Ensure proper response to emergent equipment issues.

Regulatory Compliance and Stakeholder Engagement
  • Serves as the primary site interface with regulatory agencies and oversight organizations on matters related to Maintenance and Work Control.
  • Leads and supports audits, inspections, readiness reviews, and management assessments affecting Maintenance and Work Control programs

Minimum Qualifications
Required:
  • Bachelor's degree in a technical or science related field.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience at a nuclear power plant
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in maintenance management role.
  • Shall have familiarity with standard maintenance testing practices and codes and maintenance on nuclear I&C, electrical, and mechanical systems.
  • Has performed supervisory or management activities at a nuclear power plant during an outage and at power.

Preferred:
  • Previously held a SRO License or SRO Certification
  • Experience governing maintenance and work control programs in Nuclear.
  • Demonstrated track record of programmatic performance improvement and corrective action leadership.

* We typically place offers in the lower to middle portion of the range to maintain internal equity and allow room for growth. Any salary offered within the posted salary band is based on market data and commensurate with the selected candidate's qualifications and experience. This range is specific to Wyoming State.
