Responsibilities of the Agriculture Liaison: This position will be responsible for the planning, development, implementation and follow-through of all education efforts put forth by the Farm Department. This position will be responsible for maintaining working relationships with all associated teaching staff and integrating real-life situational learning into the developed curricula. This employee will also be responsible for the oversight and implementation of Work Based Learning and Internship opportunities that are available to students.

The position will work with students during the day and after school to work on their Supervised Agricultural Experience projects that must be completed by all students. This employee will also work with students participating in on campus internships and working with the farm department. This position requires the employee to work with all students, be an effective communicator, be detail oriented, be data driven, and willing to work with all stakeholders.

This employee will be required to drive a state vehicle. The employee will receive directives from the supervisor and will need to use their own discretion and knowledge to develop methods and procedures to accomplish the goals set forth. This position requires a working knowledge of farm related activities.

The employee must be able to work with livestock of all species and varieties. Knowledge of forages, row crops, horticultural products, machinery and equipment relevant to farm based production are required. Experience with teaching high school age students is preferable but not explicitly required.

Coordinate, plan, and facilitate Supervised Agricultural Experiences (SAE) projects during the after-school time and plan and facilitate Work Based Learning (WBL) projects. Ensure all agency and student owned animals are properly cared for on a daily basis, including, but not limited to basic care, feeding, watering, veterinary services, living conditions, ham/facility maintenance, and cleaning of barn/facilities. Supervise and chaperone students as they care for animals.

Transport students. Work with farm staff to maintain animal records. Work with department supervisor, AG Teachers, and school Principal to integrate hands on learning and research into new and existing programs.

Coordinate with department supervisor on a weekly basis on program progress and give updates. Make recommendations to department supervisor and AG Teachers related to program progress. Work with Outreach department to facilitate successful summer programs and adult education programs.

Schedule, create, and coordinate weekly labs with appropriate AG Teachers and execute labs. Facilitate outreach opportunities for students in collaboration with all AG Programs. Other duties as assigned.

Minimum and Additional Requirements Bachelor of Science degree in an Agriculturally related field, a valid driver's license, and agricultural experience. Additional Requirements: Coordinate large groups. Public speaking skills.

Ability to demonstrate strategic thinking. Ability to travel overnight when required. Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds.
