The AWS Solutions Architect will provide architectural analysis, guide infrastructure decisions, and support the implementation of resilient cloud solutions supporting enterprise or federal environments. This position is 3 days a week onsite in Bethesda, MD.
Key Responsibilities
• Design and implement scalable AWS cloud architectures, providing infrastructure-focused analysis and guidance for proposed solutions.
• Deploy and manage containerized microservices using Amazon EKS (Kubernetes) supporting GraphQL-based services and Apollo Federation gateways.
• Configure and maintain multi-AZ VPC architectures, including Application Load Balancers (ALB), Web Application Firewalls (WAF), and Route 53 for DNS management.
• Manage and optimize PostgreSQL database environments with primary and standby configurations to ensure high availability, failover capability, and disaster recovery.
• Implement security and identity integrations, including Azure Entra ID and AWS security services such as Secrets Manager and SNS.
• Establish monitoring and observability solutions using AWS CloudWatch and AWS X-Ray to monitor system performance and distributed application tracing.
• Design and maintain CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI, AWS CodePipeline) to build, test, and deploy Dockerized microservices to Amazon EKS.
• Automate infrastructure provisioning using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform, AWS CloudFormation, or Ansible.
• Develop automated data integration processes, including AWS Glue jobs and CI/CD hooks to support schema changes and downstream data services.
• Support and lead cloud migration initiatives, including transitioning infrastructure from Azure or GCP environments to AWS.
Qualifications
Required

• Minimum 10 years of professional experience in cloud architecture, infrastructure engineering, or related technical roles supporting enterprise or federal environments.
• Experience designing and implementing AWS-based cloud solutions, including containerized environments, networking, and DevOps automation.
• Ability to collaborate with development and infrastructure teams to implement secure, scalable cloud-native architectures.
• Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.
