Comfort Technologies is seeking an Assistant Project Manager to join our growing commercial HVAC team. This role will work closely with Project Managers, field leadership, customers, vendors, and subcontractors to help keep commercial HVAC projects organized, on schedule, and moving forward.


This is a great opportunity for someone with experience in commercial HVAC, mechanical construction, or construction project coordination who wants to continue developing their project management skills and grow into a Project Manager role.

What You'll Do

  • Assist Project Managers with commercial HVAC projects from startup through completion and closeout.
  • Help coordinate project schedules, field crews, subcontractors, equipment, and materials.
  • Review project plans, specifications, mechanical drawings, and other project documentation.
  • Prepare, track, and maintain submittals, RFIs, change orders, purchase orders, and other project documents.
  • Coordinate equipment and material orders with vendors and track deliveries to ensure materials arrive when needed.
  • Communicate with general contractors, customers, vendors, subcontractors, field supervisors, and internal team members.
  • Help monitor project schedules and identify potential delays, material issues, or other project risks.
  • Attend project meetings and assist with documenting action items and following up on outstanding items.
  • Work closely with field leadership to ensure crews have the information, materials, and equipment needed to complete their work.
  • Assist with tracking project costs, labor, materials, and change orders.
  • Help ensure work is completed according to project specifications, company quality standards, and customer expectations.
  • Maintain accurate and organized project files and documentation.
  • Assist with project closeout, including punch lists, warranties, O&M documentation, and other required closeout materials.
  • Visit project sites throughout the DFW Metroplex as needed.
  • Support Project Managers and company leadership with additional project-related responsibilities as needed.


Qualifications

  • Experience in commercial HVAC, mechanical construction, general construction, or project coordination preferred.
  • Previous Assistant Project Manager, Project Coordinator, Project Engineer, or similar construction experience is a plus.
  • Ability to read and understand construction plans, mechanical drawings, and project specifications preferred.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, deadlines, and priorities simultaneously.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Comfortable communicating with customers, general contractors, vendors, subcontractors, and field personnel.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Excel, and Word.
  • Comfortable learning construction project management and estimating software.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to resolving issues.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
