Job description

Every-Other-Weekend Nursing Supervisor at Worcester Rehabilitation & Health Care Center!

As a Weekend Nursing Supervisor, you will direct the total nursing care activities in the facility during each shift of duty under the direction of the Director of Nursing Services. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure that the highest degree of quality resident care can be maintained at all times.

8-hour shift between 7a-11p, flexible on schedule. Weekly pay! $38 to $45 an hour, depending on license.

Responsibilities:

  • Meet the nursing and rehabilitation needs of each resident

  • Participate in developing, updating, and communicating residents' care plans

  • Ensure staff is implementing care plans, performing care activities appropriately, and recognizes changes in resident status

  • Maintain current resident care plans on all residents under his/her care

  • Transcribe physician's orders promptly and accurately

  • Review patient records daily to assure accuracy and completeness

  • Document comprehensive and complete nursing notes

  • Maintain accurate awareness of residents on alert list/conduct and document RN assessments as needed

  • Document and report any unusual or significant findings; contact the physician when necessary

  • Administer medication according to procedure if applicable

  • Initiate any and all emergency procedures as necessary

  • Conduct oversight of Charge Nurse and CNA performances

  • Contribute to and promote positive resident and family relations

  • Other duties may be assigned by manager

Requirements:

  • Must possess a current, unencumbered license to practice as an LPN or RN in this state

  • Must be CPR certified

  • Must have a minimum of one (1) year experience in a hospital, long-term care facility or other related health care facility

  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language

  • Accurate and comprehensive assessment skills

  • Knowledge of restorative nursing and rehabilitation policies and utilizes appropriately

  • Ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action

  • Ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel and the general public

  • Knowledge of nursing and medical practices and procedures, as well as laws, regulations, and guidelines that pertain to long term care

  • Leadership and supervisory ability and the willingness to work harmoniously with professional and non-professional personnel

  • Patience, tact, a cheerful disposition, and enthusiasm

  • Ability to relate information concerning a resident's condition

  • Ability to communicate effectively with appropriate personnel regarding emergency situations
