We're looking for an Associate Director of Technical Accounting and External Financial Reporting to be our go-to expert on complex accounting questions and help bring our external financial statements to life. You'll work closely with the CFO, FP&A, Legal, and our external auditors, with plenty of visibility and room to make an impact.
The Impact You Will Make

  • Debt and convertible instruments
  • Preferred stock across multiple series
  • Share-based compensation (RSUs and stock options)
  • Leases across a multi-entity portfolio
  • Business combinations and purchase accounting
  • Revenue recognition
  • Be the team's resource for adopting new accounting standards and thinking through howthey affect us

External Financial Reporting
  • Help prepare our annual and interim financial statements and footnote disclosures, including quarterly statements in a public-company style
  • Build and maintain our disclosure framework, including footnote rollforwards (leases, share-based comp, debt, equity)
  • Prepare supporting workpapers and tie-out binders that connect our disclosures back to source systems
  • Help manage the close calendar and disclosure checklist
  • Partner with our external auditors through the audit and review process

Cross-Functional Partner
  • Work with Legal and Corporate Development on how we structure transactions and the accounting behind financings and acquisitions
  • Collaborate with Equity Administration and our cap table systems to keep share-based comp and equity data accurate
  • Help us build scalable processes, controls, and documentation as we mature toward public-company readiness

What You Bring to the Table
  • CPA
  • Roughly 7+ years of accounting experience, ideally a blend of Big 4 and industry
  • Solid technical accounting background across the areas above, and someone who enjoys
    writing memos
  • Experience preparing external financial statements and footnotes; SEC reporting (10-K/10-Q)
    experience is a plus
  • Comfort with complex capital structures (preferred series, SAFEs, warrants, convertible debt)
  • Experience with high-volume share-based comp
  • Strong Excel and systems skills; equity administration systems experience is a nice-to-have
  • Someone who enjoys a fast-paced, growing environment and can work independently

Our hybrid model requires 3 days a week in the office. That said, many team members choose to come in more often to take advantage of in-person collaboration and connection. You're welcome-and encouraged-to be in the office up to 5 days a week if it works for you.
NYC Base Salary: $174,000-$183,500 per year
