Program Therapist — Women's Mental Health Residential & PHP

The Wave of Clearwater | Clearwater, FL Full-Time | On-Site

About The Wave of Clearwater

The Wave of Clearwater is an AHCA-licensed, women-only residential and partial hospitalization (PHP) mental health facility in Clearwater, FL. We provide trauma-informed, gender-responsive care in a warm, home-like environment where women can heal, rebuild, and reconnect with themselves. As part of The Wave International — a multi-site behavioral health organization — we are committed to clinical excellence, ethical practice, and a team culture that values every role.

Position Overview

We are seeking a compassionate and clinically skilled Program Therapist to join our clinical team. In this full-time role, you will provide individual, group, and family therapy to adult women presenting with primary mental health diagnoses, including trauma, depression, anxiety, and co-occurring conditions. You will work closely with our Clinical Director, medical team, and case management staff to deliver evidence-based, individualized treatment within a supportive, multidisciplinary setting.

What You'll Do

  • Provide individual, group, and family therapy sessions in accordance with each client's individualized treatment plan
  • Conduct biopsychosocial assessments and ongoing clinical evaluations for women in residential and PHP levels of care
  • Develop, implement, and regularly update person-centered, trauma-informed treatment plans in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team
  • Facilitate structured therapy groups using evidence-based modalities such as CBT, DBT, trauma-focused therapies, and motivational interviewing
  • Document clinical services thoroughly and timely in the Alleva EMR, in accordance with AHCA, Joint Commission, and 65E-4.016 standards
  • Collaborate with psychiatry, nursing, case management, and recovery support staff to coordinate comprehensive client care
  • Participate in treatment team meetings, clinical staffing, and utilization reviews
  • Support discharge planning and aftercare coordination to promote long-term recovery
  • Maintain strict confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA and all applicable state and federal regulations
  • Uphold the principles of trauma-informed care and gender-responsive treatment in every client interaction

Qualifications

Required:

  • Master's degree in Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, Marriage & Family Therapy, or a related behavioral health field
  • Active Florida licensure as an LCSW, LMHC, LMFT, or registered intern (RCSWI, RMHCI, RMFTI) under qualified supervision
  • Experience providing individual and group therapy in a behavioral health setting
  • Working knowledge of trauma-informed care principles and evidence-based modalities (CBT, DBT, trauma-focused approaches)
  • Strong clinical documentation skills and familiarity with electronic health records
  • Current CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire)
  • Ability to pass AHCA Level II background screening

Preferred:

  • Experience in residential, PHP, or acute mental health settings
  • Experience working with women, survivors of trauma, or populations with co-occurring disorders
  • Familiarity with the Alleva EMR
  • Certifications or advanced training in trauma-focused modalities (EMDR, TF-CBT, Seeking Safety, etc.)

What We Offer

  • Competitive salary commensurate with experience and licensure
  • Comprehensive benefits package: medical, dental, and vision insurance
  • Paid time off (PTO) that accrues from day one for full-time staff
  • 401(k) retirement plan with Human Interest
  • Supportive clinical supervision (hours available for registered interns pursuing full licensure)
  • Continuing education support and professional development opportunities
  • A collaborative, mission-driven team culture rooted in respect, integrity, and clinical excellence
  • The chance to make a meaningful, lasting impact in the lives of women in recovery

Schedule

  • Full-time, Monday through Friday
  • On-site at our Clearwater, FL facility
  • Occasional flexibility required to accommodate group schedules and treatment team meetings
