Job description

Program Director
Cooking with Kids (CWK) is seeking a Program Director to lead our food education programs across northern New Mexico. This is a key leadership role responsible for program quality, leading Food Educator training and development, and bringing CWK's mission to life-educating and inspiring kids and families through meaningful classroom and cafeteria experiences.
As a member of the senior leadership team, the Program Director helps sustain the impact of our core programs while shaping how they grow and adapt over time-working collaboratively across the team and with our partner schools to ensure our work meets the needs and opportunities of schools and communities. This role brings thoughtful, evidence-informed approaches to program and curriculum design, building on 30 years of CWK's hands-on, joyful food and nutrition education.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead curriculum development, recipe planning, and instructional materials aligned with CWK's program model
  • Guide, coach, and mentor a strong team of Food Educators-supporting their growth and well-being while ensuring consistent, high-quality program delivery
  • Plan and manage the annual program calendar and budget in coordination with team members (procurement, county programs, etc.), executive leadership, and school partners
  • Support county-based programs in close partnership with County Coordinator(s)
  • Partner with the Executive Director to oversee program evaluation and use insights to inform program refinement
  • Maintain and expand strong relationships with schools, districts, funding organizations, and community partners
  • Oversee program operations, including materials, equipment, and budget alignment
  • Contribute to organizational planning, partnerships, and fundraising efforts as part of the leadership team

We're looking for a collaborative leader who is excited to be part of a dynamic team serving 8,000+ kids across 33 schools-someone who leads with care for people, brings both experience and an innovative mindset, and will thrive while helping programs grow and evolve.
