Field Services Technician / Wireless Tower Climber


Locations:

Job Type: Full-time, hourly, nonexempt
Schedule: Monday through Friday, with overtime, travel, and occasional after-hours work

Position Overview

NextGen is hiring experienced Field Services Technicians / Wireless Tower Climbers for full-time, direct-placement opportunities across Washington.

This is a hands-on field role supporting the installation, removal, maintenance, testing, and troubleshooting of microwave, wireless, and network equipment at towers, rooftops, poles, technical facilities, and customer locations.

Previous professional tower-climbing experience and the ability to climb communication towers are required.


Key Responsibilities

  • Climb communication towers and work safely at elevated locations
  • Install and remove antennas, radios, routers, cabling, and wireless equipment
  • Assist with microwave and wireless network installations and upgrades
  • Program and test microwave radios, routers, and related equipment
  • Complete Cat5, direct-burial, and general cabling projects
  • Perform maintenance at tower sites and technical facilities
  • Troubleshoot wireless, RF, microwave, and network equipment
  • Maintain accurate installation and service documentation
  • Travel throughout Washington and nearby states as required
  • Complete occasional overnight trips
  • Respond to emergency or after-hours service needs when required
  • Operate ATVs, snowmobiles, and other off-road transportation when necessary


Required Qualifications

  • Previous professional tower-climbing experience
  • Ability and willingness to climb communication towers
  • Experience with wireless, microwave, RF, telecommunications, or networking equipment
  • Ability to lift and carry up to approximately 70 pounds
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Insurable driving record
  • Ability to work outdoors in rain, snow, heat, wind, and other changing conditions
  • Basic proficiency with computers and laptops
  • Ability to travel and stay overnight when required
  • Availability for overtime and occasional emergency work
  • Ability to communicate clearly with coworkers, customers, and vendors
  • Ability to complete background screening, reference checks, and drug testing

Certifications and Training


Relevant safety certifications may include:

  • OSHA 30
  • CPR and First Aid
  • Basic electrical safety training
