Job description

MARS Solutions Group is looking for an experienced Network Engineer in Brookfield, WI. Our client is a financial services industry leader looking for high-quality talent to make a difference. They are known to respect a traditional work week and often extend contracts for added job security and stability

This position reports to the VP, IT Infrastructure and Operations and operates out of our Client's Headquarters. This individual will be responsible for designing and supporting Client's IT networks used by the business and third-party businesses including: device network, VPNs, routers, other physical hardware, and related software. ย Ensures the continuous operation and delivery of IT services to support Client's associates and members.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelorโ€™s degree or equivalent experience in an IT Infrastructure delivery and/or
  • support role.
  • Minimum of 5 yearsโ€™ working experience in an IT infrastructure delivery, design, and
  • support role for on-premise infrastructure.
  • Minimum 5 yearsโ€™ proven experience in protecting data, software and hardware by
  • coordinating, planning, and implementing network security measures.
  • Minimum 5 yearsโ€™ experience with enterprise networking โ€“ routing protocols & traffic
  • flow, VLAN and subnet management. Preferred working knowledge of SDWAN.
  • Minimum 3 yearโ€™s proven experience installing and/or supporting VMWare and Cisco
  • Networking Equipment, including routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless access
  • points.
  • Minimum 3 yearโ€™s proven experience with VPN and remote access technologies.
  • Ability to think through problems and visualize solutions.
  • Valid driverโ€™s license and reliable vehicle for travel to branches.
  • On-call availability for emergency support calls 24/7 with a half hour response time and
  • off-hours availability for maintenance windows.ย 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, organizational skills, and the ability to
  • work independently.
  • Demonstrated ability to create accurate network diagrams and documentation for
  • design and planning network systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to use judgment and discretion in various situations while
  • maintaining a high degree of confidentiality.
  • Demonstrated experience in balancing multiple priorities and managing a variety of
  • projects in a high-volume work environment with strong attention to detail.ย ย ย 
  • Must have a thorough understanding of company policies and procedures as they relate
  • to the position. Must understand and comply with all job-related state and federal laws
  • and regulations.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Implement, administer, and troubleshoot network infrastructure devices including
  • wireless access points, firewall, routers, switches, and controllers and related software
  • and applications.
  • Troubleshooting, diagnosing, and resolving hardware, software and other network and
  • system problems.
  • Replacing faulty network hardware when required.
  • Conducts network/site visits and prepares visit reports.
  • Ensures disaster recovery solution is operational, maintained and meeting the business
  • needs.
  • Adheres to the companyโ€™s ITIL processes in the ITSM system that documents requests,
  • incidents, problems, and changes.
  • Provides a proactive approach and thought leadership to implement efficiencies to the
  • environment.
  • Delivers excellent customer service, resolving support requests and ensuring prompt
  • and effective resolutions within agreed service timescales.
  • Performs maintenance tasks on supported infrastructure and applications during after
  • business hours maintenance windows when required.
  • Escalates calls where significant service affecting incidents or security breaches occur as
  • appropriate.
  • Follows standard operating procedures relating to management of the network and
  • security environments.
  • Completes and maintains accurate documentation.
  • Performs project work and other duties as assigned.
