Description:

Columbia Technology Partners is seeking a Network Engineer 1 to support the design, implementation, and maintenance of enterprise network environments. This role focuses on building and securing network infrastructure, supporting system architecture, and ensuring reliable performance across datacenter and enterprise systems.

The ideal candidate will work hands-on with network hardware and security technologies while contributing to network design, troubleshooting, and ongoing operational support in complex environments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the design, implementation, and maintenance of network architecture across LAN and datacenter environments
  • Install, configure, and troubleshoot network devices including routers, switches, firewalls, and load balancers
  • Monitor network performance and security, identifying and resolving issues as needed
  • Implement and maintain secure network configurations, including VPNs and access controls
  • Work with TCP/IP protocols, routing, and switching to ensure optimal network functionality
  • Support firewall configurations and enforce network security boundaries
  • Perform packet analysis and assist with troubleshooting network traffic issues
  • Maintain documentation and track work using ticketing systems
  • Support virtualization environments, including VMware and container-based solutions
  • Participate in on-call support and live operational environments

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field
    • Two (2) additional years of relevant experience may be substituted for a degree
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in network engineering, including LAN design, architecture, and security
  • DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification (or equivalent)
  • Experience with Cisco routers, switches, firewalls, and IPSEC VPNs
