Position Overview:

The Wire Drawer is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining wire drawing and straightening equipment to process metal coils into finished product that meets quality and production standards. This role ensures proper machine setup, monitors product quality, and maintains safe and efficient operations within a manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities (Essential Functions):

  • Set up and operate wire drawing, straightening, and      cut-off equipment according to work orders and specifications.
              Adjust and change guide rolls, straightening rolls, and dies as      required.
              Perform machine setups, die changes, and process adjustments within      established standards.
  • Move and position materials from storage to machines      using appropriate material handling equipment.
              Load coils onto reels and ensure proper alignment and feeding of      material.
  • Inspect material throughout the production process to      ensure it meets specified dimensions and tolerances.
              Use measuring tools such as micrometers and gauges to verify product      quality.
  • Maintain production output in line with established      standards while ensuring acceptable quality levels.
              Complete daily production reports, including time and material usage.
  • Make minor machine adjustments as needed to maintain      performance.
              Report equipment malfunctions or operational issues to the Supervisor      promptly.
  • Follow all safety policies, procedures, and safe work      practices.
              Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area at all times.
              Participate in safety initiatives and continuous improvement efforts.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by Supervisor.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Experience in a manufacturing or wire drawing      environment preferred
  • Ability to read and follow work instructions and      specifications
  • Basic mechanical aptitude and ability to operate      industrial equipment
  • Familiarity with measuring tools and quality inspection      processes
  • Ability to work safely and efficiently in a production      environment 

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand for extended periods during shifts
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
  • Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment

Working Conditions: 

  • Manufacturing/plant environment
  • Exposure to machinery, moving equipment, and varying      temperatures
