Job description

Position Summary
Intermex is seeking a hands-on, technical QA Manager to lead the transformation of our Quality Engineering practice. This role is responsible for building and scaling test automation, driving AI-assisted testing capabilities, improving release quality, and establishing modern quality engineering standards across our web, mobile, API, and enterprise platforms.
The ideal candidate is an experienced quality leader who is equally comfortable leading teams and contributing technically. This individual will be expected to champion automation-first testing strategies, leverage AI tools to increase QA productivity, reduce manual testing efforts, and help take Intermex's Quality Engineering organization to the next level.
Add these responsibilities
  • Serve as the technical leader for Quality Engineering across the organization.
  • Define and execute Intermex's automation strategy with a goal of significantly increasing automated test coverage.
  • Standardize automation frameworks, tools, and testing practices across all Engineering teams.
  • Identify opportunities to leverage AI solutions to improve test creation, maintenance, execution, defect analysis, and quality reporting.
  • Reduce reliance on manual testing through automation, intelligent testing, and continuous quality practices.
  • Partner with Engineering leadership to embed quality throughout the software development lifecycle.
  • Evaluate emerging QA technologies, AI platforms, and industry best practices to continuously improve speed, quality, and efficiency.
What I'm looking for (Intermex version)
  • Proven experience leading QA teams while remaining hands-on technically.
  • Deep experience with UI, API, and end-to-end automation frameworks.
  • Experience implementing or scaling Playwright, Selenium, Cypress, or similar automation platforms.
  • Experience using AI tools such as ChatGPT, Claude, Copilot, Codex, or other AI-enabled testing solutions.
  • Demonstrated success reducing manual testing effort through automation and process improvements.
  • Strong understanding of Agile delivery, CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices, and modern software engineering methodologies.
  • Experience building and maturing Quality Engineering organizations, not just managing testers.
