Job description

Come aboard the ARK as a Fire & Security System Installer - COMMERCIAL

The Commercial Fire & Security System Installer is responsible for installing various electronic systems.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Installation of control panels, panel and system wiring, conduit and raceway and field device terminations.
  • Coordinating daily scheduling with the customer on-site.
  • Daily communication with project manager.
  • Maintaining drawings and/or schematics.
  • Perform troubleshooting as required
  • Conducts quality assurance.
  • Timely completion of associated documentation.
  • Basic panel programming and setup/ testing.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge of alarm system requirements and the ability to interpret code books and handbooks.
  • Able to utilize a laptop with system application software, etc.
  • Excellent customer service and ability to work well with others

Education and Experience:

  • COMMERCIAL Experience required
  • Field electrical and/or electronic practical experience required.
  • 3-5 years of related industry experience.
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Able to obtain Maryland and Virginia security technician license as required. Paid for by ARK.

Physical Requirements:

  • Physically able to climb overhead or crawl under spaces to complete jobs
  • Must be willing to work at heights
  • Must be able to operate electrical tools
  • Must be able to differentiate color coding of cables
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times
