Job description

Overview

Join our team as an experienced Solar Detach & Reinstall Technician. We are looking for hardworking, dependable individuals who are comfortable working outdoors, working with their hands, and putting in long days when necessary.

This is a physically demanding position. Our crews work primarily on residential rooftops throughout the DFW area and all over Texas, removing existing solar systems before roof replacement and professionally reinstalling and testing the systems once roofing work is complete.

This position is best suited for someone who already has solar experience, is comfortable on steep roofs, can handle extreme Texas heat, and is willing to work hard from early morning until the job is completed.

Duties

  • Remove existing residential solar panel systems safely and efficiently
  • Reinstall solar systems after roofing work is completed
  • Work on steep and high residential rooftops for extended periods
  • Work outdoors in extreme Texas heat and changing weather conditions
  • Remain on your feet and physically active throughout long shifts
  • Safely carry and maneuver solar panels, rails, ladders, tools, and equipment
  • Properly remove, organize, label, and reinstall solar panels and system components
  • Install rails, mounting feet, flashing, clamps, and other solar mounting hardware
  • Properly seal and waterproof roof penetrations during reinstallations
  • Troubleshoot solar systems before and after reinstallations
  • Verify system operation and production after work is completed
  • Identify damaged or malfunctioning solar components
  • Work with Enphase microinverter systems
  • Work with SolarEdge inverter and optimizer systems
  • Follow company procedures for jobsite photos, documentation, labeling, testing, and cleanup
  • Keep panels, equipment, customer's property, and work areas clean and organized
  • Follow all required ladder, rooftop, fall-protection, and electrical safety procedures
  • Communicate clearly with crew leaders and other team members
  • Be available for early mornings, long shifts, and changing job schedules when necessary

Skills & Experience

  • Previous solar installation experience strongly preferred
  • Detach and reinstall solar experience is highly preferred
  • Knowledge of Enphase systems
  • Knowledge of SolarEdge systems
  • Understanding of residential solar wiring, mounting, rails, feet, flashing, and rooftop equipment
  • Comfortable troubleshooting common solar installation problems
  • Comfortable working safely on steep and high-pitched roofs
  • Comfortable working outside for extended periods in extreme heat
  • Physically capable of lifting and carrying solar panels, ladders, rails, tools, and equipment
  • Able to perform physically demanding work throughout an entire shift
  • Experience using drills, impact drivers, hand tools, ladders, fall-protection equipment, and other roofing/solar equipment
  • Strong attention to detail when labeling, documenting, removing, and reinstalling solar equipment
  • Able to follow instructions and company procedures without constant supervision
  • Dependable transportation and reliable attendance
  • Strong work ethic and willingness to learn

What We're Looking For

We want someone who takes pride in hard work.

You should be comfortable starting early, working long days when needed, being on your feet throughout the day, climbing ladders, carrying equipment, and spending much of your shift on rooftops in the Texas heat.

Solar experience matters. We are especially interested in candidates who already understand residential solar installations, detach and reinstalls, Enphase systems, and SolarEdge systems.

If you are dependable, experienced, physically capable, safety-minded, and ready to work, we want to hear from you.
