Overview

Join our dynamic team in Clinton Township, MI, as a Wire EDM Programmer & Operator! We are looking for a skilled professional who is passionate about precision machining and thrives in a collaborative environment. In this role, you will be responsible for programming and operating wire electrical discharge machines (EDM) to create high-quality components. Responsibilities
  • Program and set up wire EDM machines using Mastercam to produce precision parts with tolerances ranging from ±0.0002" to ±0.001" according to specifications.
  • Selecting appropriate wire electrode for hole popper and wire EDM fixtures.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and CAD models.
  • Monitor machine operations and make adjustments as necessary to maintain quality standards.
  • Performing precision measurements and quality inspections of machined parts.
  • Verifying dimensions, alignments, and clearances using measuring instruments.Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on EDM equipment.
  • Collaborate with engineering and production teams to optimize processes and improve efficiency.
  • Maintain accurate records of production runs, including time, materials used, and any issues encountered.
  • Ensure compliance with safety and quality standards throughout the machining process.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical degree or certification in machining or a related field is a plus.
  • Proven 5 - 10 years of experience as a Wire EDM Programmer and Operator with Mitsubishi and/or Sodick brand machines.
  • Strong understanding of wire EDM processes and programming languages including Mastercam and G code.
  • Experience with low volume, high mix production.
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting technical drawings and specifications.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills and a commitment to safety and quality.
