Job description

Delta Technologies is searching for an EDM Machinist. EDM Machinist is equipped to handle a fast-paced environment and to work independently, as well as part of a team, programming and operating high precision CNC machinery.
Essential Functions:
  • Reading blueprints or job orders to obtain product specifications (dimensions and tolerances)
  • Positioning and securing work pieces to holding devices, machine tables, chucks, centers or fixtures
  • Working with stainless and high temp alloys
  • Setting specified feeds, speeds and depth of cut, in accordance with product specifications and tooling instructions
  • Observing operation and verifying conformance of machined work pieces to specifications, using measuring instruments such as calipers, bore gages, pins and micrometers
  • Adhering to safety rules, manufacturing / quality procedures and company policies
  • Maintaining a clean and organized work area.

Qualifications:
  • High school diploma
  • Prior EDM operator experience
  • Knowledge of Master Cam
  • Working understanding of the precision manufacturing industry

Physical Requirements:
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Ability to stand (including prolonged standing), walk, sit, talk or hear. Ability to lift 5 - 50 pounds. Ability to safely operate overhead crane (up to 40-ton capacity) and power industrial truck (up to 12,000-pound capacity). In order to safely operate crane and power industrial truck, the operator/individual is required to have the following; 20/20 vision (or corrected through glasses/contacts), have effective use of all four limbs, be of a height sufficient to operate controls and to have an unobstructed view of the work area, have coordination between eyes, hands, and feet, be free of known convulsion disorders and unconsciousness, and the ability to understand signs, labels, and instructions. Strong eye and hand coordination is required. Requires frequent hand movements to operate controls. Ability to safely enter and exit machine through climbing, reaching, and squatting.
