CNC Machinist (2nd

shift only)

Position Summary

The CNC Machinist is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining CNC machinery used in the production of precision fasteners and related components. This position ensures products meet quality specifications while maintaining production efficiency, safety standards, and equipment reliability.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate CNC lathes, mills, and other machining equipment.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and work instructions.
  • Load materials and tooling into machines and verify proper machine setup.
  • Monitor machine operations and make adjustments to maintain quality standards.
  • Perform first-piece, in-process, and final inspections using precision measuring instruments.
  • Troubleshoot machining and equipment issues to minimize downtime.
  • Maintain production records and quality documentation.
  • Perform routine preventative maintenance and machine housekeeping.
  • Follow all company safety policies and procedures.
  • Collaborate with production, engineering, quality, and maintenance teams to improve processes and product quality.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Technical training in CNC machining preferred.
  • Previous CNC machining experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to read blueprints and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).
  • Experience using precision measuring tools such as micrometers, calipers, and gauges.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • CNC setup and operation.
  • Tooling selection and adjustment.
  • Quality inspection techniques.
  • Understanding of manufacturing processes and tolerances.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Basic computer skills and production reporting capabilities.
  • Must be able to pass drug screen and criminal background

Working Conditions
