This role focuses on programming and operating CNC Vertical Machining Centers, primarily supporting military, aerospace, and automotive sectors. The programmer/machinist will write and edit CNC programs using WorkNC and Solidworks software, set up and run vertical machining centers including Hurcos, Saginaws, and CNC Bridgeports, and handle prototype tooling and automation projects. This position requires blueprint reading skills and the ability to participate in the full machining cycle, from design to operation. Overtime work is expected as needed, under the supervision of a team lead.
Responsibilities
- Write and edit CNC programs using WorkNC and Solidworks
- Set up and operate vertical machining centers and related CNC machines
- Read and interpret blueprints for manufacturing requirements
- Conduct quality inspections to ensure machining accuracy
- Support prototype tooling and special machine design and build
- Work overtime as required to meet production demands
- Collaborate with the team under direction of a team lead
Preferred Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in CNC programming and machining
