Responsibilities
  • Create, edit, and optimize CNC programs for multi-axis CNC lathes.
  • Program new jobs using CAM software and make program revisions as needed.
  • Develop efficient machining strategies to reduce cycle times and improve productivity.
  • Select tooling, inserts, workholding, and cutting parameters for optimal performance.
  • Perform machine prove-outs and troubleshoot programming and machining issues.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, CAD models, GD&T, and customer specifications.
  • Work closely with engineering, quality, and production teams to ensure parts meet all quality standards.
  • Support first-piece inspections and implement process improvements to reduce scrap and downtime.
  • Maintain accurate program documentation and setup sheets.
  • Assist with continuous improvement initiatives and manufacturing process development.
Qualifications
  • 5+ years of CNC programming experience focused on CNC turning.
  • Experience programming CNC lathes using CAM software such as Mastercam, Esprit, GibbsCAM, NX, or similar.
  • Strong knowledge of G-Code, tooling selection, feeds, speeds, and machining principles.
  • Experience with multi-axis lathes, live tooling, and Y-axis machining preferred.
  • Ability to read blueprints and interpret GD&T.
  • Experience machining tight-tolerance components in a precision manufacturing environment.
  • Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Preferred Experience
  • Programming multi-axis turning centers with live tooling.
  • Experience with Swiss lathes is a plus.
