POSITION SUMMARY 

As a member of the Operations Department, the Industrial Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of Oliver Winery's production, bottling, packaging, facility, and utility systems. This position performs preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, equipment improvements, and installations while supporting production schedules, equipment reliability, and continuous improvement initiatives.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES

Equipment Reliability

  • Maintains the high standards of the Oliver Winery Customer Experience as it relates to building cleanliness, maintenance, functionality, and safety. 
  • Performs electrical troubleshooting including motors, sensors, motor starters, relays, overloads, VFDs, photoelectric sensors, limit switches, and industrial control devices.
  • Performs mechanical repairs including bearings, chains, sprockets, belts, seals, shafts, couplings, pumps, valves, motors, gearboxes, and precision machine adjustments.
  • Utilizes the CMMS to complete work orders, document repairs, record equipment history, and communicate maintenance activities.
  • Routinely performs hands-on maintenance work on building systems and powered equipment. 
  • Identifies, troubleshoots, and repairs mechanical and electrical issues throughout the winery. 
  • Performs weekly observations and reports them utilizing the CMMS program. 
  • Promptly responds to breakdowns as requested by all departments. 
  • Works with Maintenance Coordinator to ensure SOP(s) and PM(s) are clear, concise, up to date, and appropriately defined. 
  • Under direction of Engineering and Maintenance Manager, ability to communicate effectively with vendors and contractors to ensure safe and efficient work is being carried out.
  • Shares responsibility in snow removal as needed, including weekends.


Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS

  • Associate degree or technical certification in Industrial Maintenance, Mechatronics, Electrical Technology, Mechanical Technology, or equivalent experience. 
  • Four years of industrial maintenance experience preferred in manufacturing, food processing, beverage production, bottling, brewery, winery, pharmaceutical, or similar automated production environments.
  • Demonstrated success troubleshooting complex mechanical and electrical equipment.
  • Working knowledge of industrial electrical systems including 120V, 240V, and 480V equipment.
  • Basic PLC, HMI, industrial controls, and VFD troubleshooting experience required.
  • Experience utilizing a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
  • Ability to lift or move at least 50 pounds regularly.
  • Ability to safely work from ladders, aerial lifts, and elevated work platforms.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORK ENVIRONMENT: 

This is a physical job in a winery/production setting that will require long periods of standing, walking, lifting, climbing ladders and the ability to observe others and the work environment. Must be able to regularly lift a minimum of 50 lbs. This position may occasionally be exposed to wet or humid conditions, work near moving mechanical parts, outdoor power equipment, chemicals, and outdoor weather conditions. 

PERFORMANCE STANDARDS: 

  •  Annual performance review conducted by Management. 
  •  Annual department goals to be determined collaboratively with Supervisors. 

Typical Schedule: Position is full-time, hourly. Typical schedule is Monday-Friday with occasional night/weekend work. Available to be "on-call" one weekend each month. 

FLSA Classification: Full-Time, Non-Exempt.
