Job Summary:

We are seeking a Junior AV Installer to join our Calgaryteam. In this role, you will support the installation of audiovisual systems by pulling and terminating cables, installing connectors, and mounting equipment such as speakers, projectors, and screens.You will work closely with senior installers to learn best practices and contribute to projects across a variety of environments. This is an entry-level position, and candidates of all experience levels are encouraged to apply.


Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Work under guidance from Senior and Lead technicians on AV projects
  • Perform cable pulls, solder, crimp and terminate audio, video and network cables
  • Hang monitors, projectors, mics, speakers on wall and ceiling using anchors, Unistrut and mounts (guidance/training provided)
  • Review Bill of Materials, Drawings, Project Scope and prepare for site activities
  • Read and interpret electronic schematics and architectural blueprints
  • Load and unload AV equipment at shop and worksite
  • Occasionally work overtime as needed (time in lieu) to meet promises to clients
  • Must be willing to work out of town, overnight travel may be required from time to time


Preferred Skills and Abilities:

  • Must be organized and detail oriented
  • Ability to work and think independently to meet deadlines
  • Ability to operate hand and power tools (drill)
  • Knowledge of low voltage systems and signal flow for audio, video and control
  • Troubleshooting, quality checks, servicing abilities, problem solving abilities
  • Must be able to lift 50lbs and work on ladders and lifts


Education and/or Experience:

  • Any education in Electronics or related field preferred
  • Any Networking/IT background preferred

Safety:

  • Bondable, clean driving record
  • Must be able to lift 50lbs and work on ladders and lifts
  • Any trade certifications are an asset: WHMIS, fall arrest, scissor lift and other safety Certifications
