Position Overview

As a Major Component Exchange/Repair Technician, you'll be at the forefront of specialized wind turbine repair and optimization. Traveling to sites across the region, you'll lead or support major component exchanges - ensuring minimal downtime and peak turbine performance. With your previous experience in wind energy, you'll bring precision and expertise to every gearbox, generator, and retrofit you touch. Your work helps keep turbines turning and communities powered. ย 

Key Responsibilitiesย ย 

  • The most critical factor is ensuring safety for everyone involved. This includes Risk Assessment; Identify potential hazards before starting. Protective Measures: Use appropriate gear, follow protocols, and maintain a safe environment. Compliance; Adhere to safety regulations and standards to prevent accidents.
  • Perform major component exchanges including gearboxes, generators, and other critical systems.ย ย 
  • Execute maintenance, minor to medium repairs, design modifications, retrofits, and special projects - all following established procedures.
  • Travel extensively to support turbine operations across multiple platforms and site conditions.
  • Collaborate with teams to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality work.
  • Conduct safety inspections and ensure a secure working environment.ย ย 
  • This role offers exposure to a wide range of turbine platforms, site conditions, and team environments-ideal for technicians who thrive on variety and continuous learning.

Who You Are

  • Prioritize safety above all else. You understand and follow established safety protocols, proactively identify potential hazards, and take immediate action to prevent incidents. Your commitment ensures a secure environment for yourself, your team, and the community.
  • Preferred wind turbine experience with hands-on MCE work.
  • Minimum one year of wind technician experience, or six months wind technician experience with a Wind Technician certificate/education, or 2 years of transferrable mechanical, electrical, and/or hydraulic experience
  • Proven expertise in troubleshooting and executing major repairs on various platforms.
  • Comfortable with 100% travel and working in varied site conditions.
  • A collaborative technician who thrives on solving complex challenges.
  • Physically fit, comfortable working in various conditions, and at heights.
  • Ability to speak, read and follow instructions in English.
  • You have a high school diploma (or equivalent), a valid driver's license, and are legally authorized to work in the U.S. without the need for current or future sponsorship.

Salary & Career Growthย ย 

We offer attractive pay packages, performance bonuses, and opportunities to support your professional development. The base pay salary range for this position isย $28.25 - $33.43/hr., with potential for additional variable compensation.   • Ability to observe training and obtain certification in required safety programs that include LOTO, Electrical Qualification, Fall Arrest & High Angle Rescue & Emergency Decent, and Confined Space.
  • Ability to successfully participate in all training courses, including controlled decent practical exercises.
  • Due to design parameters of fall protection equipment, the combined weight of prospective employee, required PPE and gear shall not exceed 300 lbs. Required PPE and gear may weigh up to 40 lbs.
