Job description

Subscription Retention Specialist
ABOUT TRULY FREE HOME
Truly Free Home exists to give families powerful, plant-based cleaning products without the toxic chemicals or the frustrating single-purchase model. Our subscription business is the beating heart of what we do: it's how we fund our mission, build long-term customer relationships, and deliver real value month after month.
We're growing fast, and we need someone to own the engine that powers it all.
THE ROLE
As Subscription Retention Specialist you will own the full lifecycle of our subscriber business, from acquisition to retention to long-term value. This is a high-impact, high-visibility role that sits at the intersection of growth, product, and customer experience. You'll work directly with senior leadership and have real ownership over one of the most important revenue streams at Truly Free Home.
You'll set strategy, run experiments, analyze data, and make calls. If you're the kind of person who gets obsessed over churn curves and lights up when a winback campaign beats forecast, you'll love it here.
WHAT YOU'LL OWN
Subscription Growth
  • Drive new subscriber acquisition through owned channels, paid, and bundled offers
  • Develop and test compelling subscription entry points, trial offers, and incentive structures
  • Partner with the marketing team to build subscriber-specific campaigns and funnels

Retention & Churn Reduction
  • Own the subscriber retention strategy and KPIs, including churn rate, pause rate, and active subscriber count
  • Build and optimize cancel-flow interventions, skip/pause options, and winback sequences
  • Identify and act on early churn signals using customer data and behavioral insights

Subscriber Value & Experience
  • Increase average order value and LTV across the subscriber base
  • Own the subscriber communication calendar, emails, SMS, loyalty perks, and surprise-and-delight moments
  • Ensure the subscription experience is seamless from onboarding through renewal

Analytics & Reporting
  • Build dashboards and reports that give leadership clear visibility into subscription health
  • Track cohort performance, LTV curves, and payback periods
  • Run structured A/B tests and translate results into clear recommendations

WHO YOU ARE
  • You have 4-7 years of experience in subscription, DTC, or e-commerce growth roles
  • You've directly owned retention and/or growth KPIs, not just supported them
  • You're data-fluent: comfortable in Klaviyo, Google Analytics, or similar tools, and you know how to use data to make a decision
  • You write and think clearly, you can turn a messy brief into a sharp strategy and a sharp strategy into a clear plan
  • You're a self-starter who thrives in a fast-moving, async-first remote environment
  • You care about the mission (sustainable, clean products for families) and that shows in how you work

NICE TO HAVE
  • Experience with subscription platforms
  • Background in CPG, home goods, or health/wellness DTC brands
  • Familiarity with SMS marketing and lifecycle automation
  • Experience managing or mentoring junior team members

WHAT WE OFFER
  • Competitive salary + performance bonus tied to subscription KPIs
  • 100% remote - work from wherever you do your best work in the United States of America
  • High ownership, low bureaucracy - your ideas will actually get built
  • A mission you can stand behind: safer products for families, a healthier planet
  • A tight-knit team that moves fast and supports each other

HOW TO APPLY
Send your resume and a short note (a few paragraphs is fine) telling us about a subscription or retention initiative you led, what the challenge was, what you did, and what happened. We care a lot more about that than a polished cover letter.
