Vice President, Federal Capture & Acquisition Strategy

Threat Tec, LLC

Hampton, VA

$150K - $250K/yr

Full-time

Posted 14 days ago

Job description

Threat Tec, LLC, a rapidly growing Veteran-Owned Business, is the leader of Operational Environment (OE) replication and Threat Emulation/Wargaming solutions. Threat Tec brings innovative thinking and extensive experience to complex challenges for public and private sector customers. We work alongside our nation's defenders, developing solutions that drive success and protect our future. Join a team that is embodied by an unwavering commitment to professionalism, honesty, and innovation.

About the role

Threat Tec is a growing defense-services company. We are hiring a Vice President, Federal Capture & Acquisition Strategy to own how we win the federal pursuits that matter - shaping the strategy, positioning us to win, and building an AI-enabled capture capability that compounds across every future bid. This is the architect's chair: you build the machine that wins, not a seat in it.

Federal Capture
  • Capture strategy & positioning - Own the win strategy for each assigned federal pursuit - how we compete and why we win.

  • Shaping & win themes - Shape the requirement and the customer's view before the RFP drops; author the win themes.

  • Teaming strategy - Build the winning team - primes, subcontractors, and joint ventures - and secure teaming agreements for priority pursuits.

  • Acquisition & customer intelligence - Read the buyer; own the customer and stakeholder call plan and the intelligence that informs every pursuit.

  • AI capture-intelligence engine - Stand up and lead an AI-enabled capture capability that compounds every future bid.

  • Command of the pursuit - Direct capture resources and hold the decision authority on how each pursuit is run.

  • Develop the bench - Multiply capture capability across the team; set the win-strategy standard others follow.

Required Qualifications
  • 15+ years in federal / DoD capture, business development, or acquisition, with a demonstrated record of winning competitive federal pursuits.

  • Deep knowledge of the federal acquisition lifecycle and how government buying decisions are made.

  • Proven capture methodology (Shipley, APMP, or equivalent) - shaping, win strategy, win themes, and color-team reviews.

  • Demonstrated success structuring teaming arrangements - primes, subcontractors, and joint ventures.

  • Strong customer and stakeholder engagement skills; effective out front with customers and partners.

  • U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance.

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Background in military service, government program / acquisition roles, or the defense acquisition community.

  • Active U.S. Government security clearance.

  • Experience standing up or leveraging capture tools, automation, or AI-enabled capture capabilities.

  • Experience mentoring and developing capture or business-development talent.

$150,000 - $250,000 a year
Actual compensation will be determined based on job-related factors including experience, education, certifications, security clearance requirements, internal equity, and customer or contract requirements.

Compensation & benefits

Threat Tec offers a competitive base salary; an uncapped, win-based sales incentive tied to the captures you win; a long-term equity opportunity; and a comprehensive benefits package. Specific compensation figures will be established by Threat Tec in accordance with applicable Virginia pay-transparency requirements.

Candidates transitioning from federal service

Candidates transitioning from federal government service are encouraged to apply. Threat Tec works with candidates and counsel to address any post-employment ethics or organizational conflict-of-interest (OCI) considerations, and to scope the role appropriately from day one.
