Position: Middle School Football Coach

Organization: Wichita Public Schools in partnership with Wichita Park & Recreation

Location: Wichita, KS

Position Overview:
Wichita Public Schools, in collaboration with Wichita Park & Recreation, is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Middle School Football Coach to lead and develop our 7th and 8th-grade football programs. The ideal candidate will foster a positive environment where youth can learn and grow both on and off the field, while promoting sportsmanship, teamwork, and a love for the game.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach middle school athletes the fundamentals and advanced techniques of football.
  • Recruit and select assistant coaches for 7th and 8th-grade teams.
  • Assist in recruiting and selecting head and assistant coaches for 1st–6th grade teams.
  • Organize and lead practices, ensuring effective use of time and resources.
  • Communicate regularly with parents and guardians about schedules, practices, and games.
  • Prioritize the safety and well-being of all athletes, implementing and enforcing safety protocols.
  • Promote fair play, teamwork, and good sportsmanship.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Strong knowledge of football, including techniques, strategies, and rules.
  • Proven leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate youth and staff.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
