JOB SUMMARY:


We are searching for our next SUPER STAR ! As the WIC Customer Service Representative (CSR) you will serve as the primary source of contact for patients at CentroMed WIC and as such is responsible for welcoming patients into the system and ensuring they have positive experiences. The WIC CSR is responsible for registration and processing of all clients/families requesting WIC services. The WIC CSR is responsible for coordinating encounter data entry to meet program and agency deadlines, adhering to compliance and quality improvement processes.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

 Greet and assist patients, members and visitors who enter.  

 Answer telephones identifying self and name of clinic in a friendly, professional manner.

 Attentively and promptly respond to the client's needs.

 Demonstrate proficiency in establishing and updating accounts in the computer system using name, alias, family members, SSN, and account numbers.

 Determine program eligibility for participants by assessing household income or obtaining proof of Medicaid, SNAP or TANF

 Demonstrates the ability to explain myWIC to participants

 Demonstrate ability to schedule participant appointments according to established protocols

 Demonstrate proficiency in sending text message reminders for upcoming appointments

 Demonstrate excellent understanding of the WIC program and certification periods for each category including pregnant, breastfeeding and post-partum women, infant and children

 Demonstrate excellent knowledge of issuing benefits onto the EBT card

 Maintain knowledge of the TXIN system

 Follow-up on missed appointments as assigned by Director or Supervisor

 Maintain excellent personal attire to include uniform, nametag, and compliance with CentroMed appearance as outlined in the Employee Policy Handbook.

 Provide participants with required written materials including the Rights and Responsibilities and Healthy Texas Women's Program

 Assists with outreach activities 

 Demonstrates a breastfeeding friendly attitude

 Travel to other sites in carrying out same duties as at the home site

 Understands and upholds CentroMed' s mission and values relating to ethics, integrity, safety, corporate responsibility and objectives

 Actively participates in maintaining high levels of excellent customer service internally and externally

 Abide by all policies and procedures set forth by CentroMed.

 Participate in the agency's Quality Improvement Program. (if applicable)

 Ensure the protection and security of all personal, confidential and identifiable information in a professional and responsible manner and carry out all measures to prevent from unauthorized disclosures.

 Demonstrating and maintaining the standards and requirements of the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA).

 Assists in training new employees in performing their job duties as requested.

 Performs all duties in conformance to appropriate safety and security standards.

 Performs other duties assigned

 Work must be performed on-site as designated

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education: High School Diploma or equivalent

Experience: General experience working in a health care setting; and experience with medical data entry preferred.

                       Strong clerical skills to include keyboarding and a good understanding of basic math. 

                       Computer knowledge and use of calculator.

                       Attention to detail.

                       Bilingual/Bicultural (preferred)


 PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: 

Must be able to perform the essential functions of the position.

Must be able to deliver excellent customer service, externally and internally

Must be able to meet the attendance requirements of the position.

Work must be performed at designated on-site location(s)

Must not pose a threat to the health or safety of other individuals in the workplace.

Physical ability to lift to 20 pounds unassisted.
