Job description

Position Summary: We are seeking a motivated and organized Assistant Wholesale Kitchen Manager to help oversee the daily operations of our wholesale kitchen. This role supports the Kitchen Manager in supervising staff, maintaining food safety standards, coordinating production schedules, and ensuring efficient workflow to meet wholesale order requirements. The ideal candidate has a strong background in food production, leadership skills, and a passion for operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities: • Assist in managing day-to-day kitchen operations, ensuring timely and accurate production of wholesale food items. • Supervise kitchen staff and prep teams, providing training, guidance, and performance feedback. • Help develop and maintain production schedules to meet order deadlines. • Monitor inventory levels; assist with ordering and receiving ingredients and supplies. • Ensure all food safety, sanitation, and hygiene standards (HACCP or local regulations) are met. • Maintain kitchen cleanliness and organization according to health and safety standards. • Collaborate with the Kitchen Manager to optimize workflow and improve operational efficiency. • Address issues such as delays, equipment malfunctions, or staff shortages in a timely manner. • Support quality control procedures to maintain product consistency. • Serve as acting manager when the Kitchen Manager is unavailable.

Qualifications: • Minimum 2 years of experience in a commercial or wholesale kitchen, with at least 1 year in a supervisory role. • Knowledge of large-scale food production, kitchen equipment, and inventory systems. • Strong understanding of food safety standards and best practices. • Ability to lead and motivate a team in a fast-paced environment. • Excellent organizational, time management, and communication skills. • Flexibility to work early mornings, weekends, and holidays as needed. • ServSafe certification (or equivalent) preferred

Physical Requirements: • Ability to stand for extended periods. • Lift up-to 50 lbs. • Work in hot, cold, or humid kitchen conditions
