Job description

Position Overview

CLF Consultants LLC seeks a Georgia-licensed Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to deliver IEP-driven speech and language therapy to students ages 3 through 21 across Whitfield County School System sites in Dalton, Georgia. The role supports the district's Special Education program and serves students with articulation, expressive and receptive language, fluency, voice, social-pragmatic communication, and augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) needs identified through Individualized Education Programs.

The SLP joins a multi-discipline contracted team and works alongside Whitfield County's Special Education department. Caseloads run approximately 55-65 students per direct-service discipline; assignment volumes vary by service model, campus distribution, and IEP changes across the school year. CLFC works with the Whitfield County Special Education department to balance caseloads, cluster campuses to minimize drive time between schools, and rotate coverage as needed. The 8-hour billable workday is anchored to student school hours; service delivery is in-person preferred per district request. Whitfield County provides instructional materials, computers, printers, and evaluation toolkits.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver speech and language therapy services in accordance with each student's IEP
  • Conduct screenings, evaluations, and re-evaluations as required for eligibility, continued service, and discharge from services
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans aligned with each student's IEP goals - articulation, language, fluency, voice, social-pragmatic communication, and AAC where appropriate - exercising clinical judgment in treatment-plan development
  • Produce service-delivery logs matching each student's IEP service hours, in compliance with Medicaid billing documentation standards
  • Attend IEP meetings during the standard 8-hour school day as scheduled, contributing diagnostic findings, treatment progress data, and goal recommendations to the IEP team
  • Coordinate with classroom teachers, special education staff, parents, and other contracted disciplines (OT, PT, SLI, RN/LPN) on integrated care planning
Required Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an ASHA-accredited program
  • Active Georgia License for Speech-Language Pathology, minimum classification S-5, in good standing
  • ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP), or eligibility for Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) supervision arrangement at the time of hire
  • Demonstrated experience providing school-based speech-language therapy to students ages 3-21
  • Working knowledge of IEP development, IDEA compliance, and special education service delivery standards
  • Successful completion of background check per Whitfield County School System and Georgia Department of Education requirements
  • Reliable transportation to multiple school sites within Whitfield County
Strongly Preferred Qualifications
  • Three or more years of K-12 school-based SLP practice in a multidisciplinary special education environment
  • Bilingual Spanish/English capability - eligible for the bilingual differential (see compensation details), reflecting Dalton/Whitfield's English-language-learner demographics and assessment-in-primary-language needs
  • AAC specialty experience with high-tech speech-generating devices - eligible for the AAC specialty differential
  • Documented experience with Medicaid documentation and service-log standards in a Georgia school setting
  • Familiarity with Whitfield County or Northwest Georgia regional school district operations
Compensation
  • Hourly base range: $62.00 - $76.00 per hour for experienced school-based SLPs (independent contractor / 1099)
  • Bilingual differential (Spanish/English assessment and treatment): +$3.00 - $6.00 per hour
  • AAC specialty differential (high-tech SGD evaluation and programming experience): +$2.00 - $4.00 per hour
  • Combined ceiling for bilingual + AAC specialists or candidates with extensive Medicaid school-billing expertise: up to $82.00 per hour
  • Bi-weekly pay frequency per CLFC standard contractor terms
