Job Description

This job is eligible for an additional sign-on bonus

The primary purpose of the Medical Logistics Manager is to oversee and coordinate all aspects of material and logistics operations within the program. This includes managing the movement of supplies, ensuring accurate tracking of inventory status, and providing comprehensive supply chain support to optimize program efficiency and effectiveness. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and manage the inventory of medical supplies, equipment, and devices, including monitoring stock levels, conducting routine audits, and ensuring timely restocking as necessary. 
  • Direct the receiving and shipping processes for all incoming and outgoing medical supplies, equipment, and devices to guarantee proper labeling, packaging, and timely delivery of items. 
  • Ensure that all medical supplies, equipment, and devices comply with required quality standards by performing regular inspections and testing to confirm their safety and efficacy for use. 
  • Maintain accurate and comprehensive records of all inventory transactions, encompassing receiving, shipping, and restocking activities. 
  • Monitor expiration dates, lot numbers, and other critical information related to medical products to prevent misuse or wastage. 
  • Manage the maintenance and servicing of all medical equipment, including organizing routine inspections and repairs, as well as coordinating with external service providers when needed. 
  • Ensure full compliance of all medical products and equipment with relevant regulations and guidelines. 
  • Facilitate effective communication with other departments and healthcare personnel to streamline logistics processes. 
  • Coordinate daily operations with requestors, cataloging, purchasing, and supply chain management teams to ensure efficient logistics flow. 
  • Oversee the movement of equipment to optimize operational efficiency within the logistics framework. 
  • Completes required organizational compliance education, including assigned requirements that are client-specified, for Joint Commission Healthcare Staffing Services certification or other regulatory bodies.

Qualifications

Experience Required: 

  • Ability to multi-task effectively, prioritizes and execute against multiple priorities. 
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. 
  • Strong PC/Microsoft Office applications background. 
  • Knowledge of databases and spreadsheets. 
  • Extensive fundamental knowledge of logistics and supply principles and supply chain management. 
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills. 
  • Excellent data entry skills. 

Education Required: 

  • High school degree or equivalent. 
  • Associate degree in a related field such as business management or logistics management preferred. 
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification. 

Physical Requirements: 

  • This position is considered hazardous duty. 
  • Required to walk unaided at a normal pace for up to 5 minutes and maintain balance. 
  • Required to jog/fast walk up to mile. 
  • Requires physical exertion such as lifting objects greater than 30 pounds. 
  • Required to perform CPR/emergency care standing or kneeling. 
  • Must have the ability to assist sick, injured, or aging patients or staff exiting the building (may require lifting, dragging, wheeling, or carrying someone who weighs significantly more than self). 
  • Must be able to see, hear and smell with aids if necessary. 
  • Must be able to lift, push, or carry 30 pounds. 
  • Must perform the duties of my job in a stressful and often austere environment without physical limitations. 
  • Sitting and/or standing for extended periods of time. 
  • Average manual dexterity for computer operation. 
  • Phone or computer use for extended periods of time. 

Other Special Qualifications: 

  • Minimum of 21 years of age. 
  • Must maintain current/physical residency in the continental U.S. 
  • Pass a medical examination conducted by a licensed physician within 30 days prior to initial assignment. 
  • Be a U.S. citizen or a person lawfully admitted into the U.S. for permanent residence. 
  • Have resided in the U.S. for the last five years (unless abroad on official U.S. government duty). 
  • Successfully engage in and complete a thorough Background Investigation. 
  • Poses or have ability to obtain required security clearances. 
  • Proficiency in Spanish is preferred.
