Job description

Digital Graphic Designer, West Elm 

West Elm is seeking a highly motivated Digital Graphic Designer to help shape the creative vision across West Elm and West Elm Kids digital channels. This role is responsible for designing and evolving brand collaborations, seasonal campaign landing pages, and a wide range of digital marketing assets, including email, paid media and display. You'll collaborate closely with art directors, content strategists and cross-functional partners to create engaging, customer-centric experiences in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate has a strong eye for photography, typography, layout and storytelling, along with exceptional attention to detail.

Overview/Responsibilities:

  • Curate and design monthly homepage experiences, editorial features and seasonal marketing assets across web, email and social channels.
  • Concept and design digital marketing assets to support seasonal campaigns including collaborations, landing pages, video and motion graphics
  • Apply a strong editorial eye to layout, typography, photography and image editing
  • Partner with content, marketing and creative teams to elevate brand storytelling through thoughtful layouts and fresh creative ideas
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to create digital experiences that balance customer needs with business goals
  • Help evolve and maintain the visual identity of West Elm across all digital marketing channels
  • Maintain and evolve brand guidelines for West Elm and West Elm Kids, ensuring visual consistency across all marketing channels
  • Work with Creative Managers and Project Management teams to manage design and creative deliverables on schedule
  • Collaborate with print designers to create a cohesive brand experience across digital, print and retail touchpoints
  • Identify opportunities to elevate the brand across digital and retail experiences
  • Stay current on digital design trends, accessibility standards, UX/UI best practices and emerging technologies

Skills + Requirements:

  • 3-5+ years of professional digital design experience
  • Excellent layout and photo editing skills 
  • Strong understanding of typography and hierarchy within web and digital marketing assets
  • Experience in editorial, home, interiors, luxury or lifestyle brands is a plus
  • Advanced proficiency in Figma and Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign)
  • Experience with motion design or video editing (After Effects, Premiere Pro, etc.) is preferred
  • Strong understanding of responsive web design principles, design systems and component libraries/templates
  • Understanding of responsive and mobile-first design
  • Familiarity with accessibility (WCAG) best practices
  • Proactive, outgoing and self-driven
  • Strong communication, presentation and collaboration skills with the confidence to ask thoughtful questions and present creative work
  • Very organized, detail-oriented 
  • Curious, proactive, and eager to learn, grow and contribute in a collaborative environment
  • Ability to prioritize multiple projects, manage competing deadlines and thrive in a fast-paced environment
  • This role is in-office four days a week, Monday-Thursday and remote on Friday

The expected starting pay range for this position is $65,000-$80,000. Applicable pay ranges may differ across markets. Actual pay will be determined based on experience and other job-related factors permitted by law. In addition to competitive pay, compensation may include a variety of other components like benefits, paid time off, merit, and bonus opportunities.
