Job description

Bucks County Orthodonticsย in Doylestown, PA, is seeking a dedicated and skilled Orthodontic Assistant to join our amazing Team! In this role, you will provide essential support to Board Certified Orthodontist Dr. Todd Welsh in delivering top-notch high-quality care to our BCO patients. Your responsibilities will include assisting with various orthodontic procedures, ensuring patient comfort, and maintaining a clean and organized clinical environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, attention to detail, and a passion for working with patients of all ages!


What our ideal ORTHODONTIC ASSISTANT / DENTAL ASSISTANT candidate looks like:

Responsibilities

  • Provide chairside support to Dr. Welsh during patient exams and treatment procedures.
  • Prepare, sterilize, and maintain instruments and equipment in accordance with infection control standards.
  • Capture and process dental X-rays to assist in diagnostic and treatment planning.
  • Instruct patients on proper oral hygiene / offer guidance on post-treatment care.
  • Accurately update and manage patient records using Dolphin software.
  • Keep the clinic environment clean, well-organized, and compliant with health and safety regulations.
  • Foster a friendly atmosphere that eases anxiety and supports patients of all ages.

Qualifications

  • Prior experience as an orthodontic/ dental assistant is preferred.
  • Familiarity with dental software such as Dolphin is an asset, but not required.
  • Solid understanding of aseptic technique, infection control protocols, and dental/medical terminology.
  • Certified to perform dental X-rays; knowledge of radiation safety procedures.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with patients of all ages.
  • Team-oriented mindset and a collaborative working style.
  • CPR and/or First Aid certification is a plus.
  • Willingness to engage in social media & marketing events
  • Strong work ethic, fast learner, high level of professionalism
