Internship Summary Juniper Communities is seeking a Wellness Director SkillBridge Intern to support the leadership and daily operations of the community's Health & Wellness Department. This role is essential to maintaining a high standard of care and improving resident well-being through proactive health planning, staff supervision, and regulatory compliance

Wellness Directors lead and manage a team of nurses, care staff, and wellness associates, and are responsible for ensuring regulatory compliance, developing and maintaining care plans, supervising medication administration, and promoting an overall culture of wellness. They act as a liaison between residents, families, healthcare providers, and internal departments to ensure continuity and excellence in care delivery. In addition to daily operations, the Wellness Director plays a key role in team training, risk management, quality assurance, and wellness programming.

This position requires strong clinical judgment, leadership skills, and a deep commitment to resident-centered care. Responsibilities Assist with leading day-to-day operations of the Health & Wellness Department Supervise Wellness Nurses, Resident Associates, and Medication Aides Coordinate resident care plans, assessments, and interdisciplinary communication Maintain compliance with infection control, OSHA standards, and state regulations Support recruitment, onboarding, and performance evaluation of wellness team members Ensure completion of licensure, certifications, and required staff training Monitor medication administration practices and documentation Serve as a liaison with residents, families, physicians, and other departments Assist with wellness events, emergency preparedness, and wellness education Manage wellness department supplies, scheduling, and staffing Report operational updates and compliance status to the Executive Director Requirements Active RN or LPN license (Degree preferred) Prior leadership experience in a healthcare or service-related setting Familiarity with resident care plans, documentation, and medication administration Strong communication and interpersonal skills Knowledge of older adult care and wellness programming Experience supervising teams or operations in clinical or healthcare environments Compensation Range: If hired after the internship the target compensation range is $78K - $86K. This compensation can vary depending on experience level, certifications, and other factors.
