Ivy Tech Bloomington campus is searching for part time help to support the daily operations of the student run coffee shop and assist with the promotion of the Hospitality Program through social media and marketing activities.

Position Summary
The Hospitality Program Assistant supports the daily operations of the student-run coffee shop and assists with the promotion of the Hospitality Program through social media and marketing activities. This role provides students with practical hospitality, customer service, and business operations experience while helping create a welcoming environment for guests and increasing engagement with current and prospective students.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Coffee Shop Operations

  • Manage the day-to-day operations of the student-run coffee shop.
  • Open and close the coffee shop according to established procedures.
  • Prepare and serve coffee, beverages, and light food items while maintaining quality and consistency standards.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to students, employees, and community visitors.
  • Monitor inventory levels and assist lab tech by providing information on what supplies and merchandise need to be purchased.
  • Maintain cleanliness, organization, and food safety standards throughout the coffee shop.
  • Operate and reconcile point-of-sale (POS) transactions and maintain accurate records.
  • Assist with training and coordinating student workers and volunteers.
  • Support coffee shop promotions, special events, and customer engagement activities.
Social Media and Marketing Support
  • Collaborate with faculty and staff to highlight program achievements and upcoming activities.
  • Ensure social media content aligns with institutional branding and communication guidelines.
General Program Support
