NSC Staffing s seeking an experienced Journeyman Welder with Active Clearance. This position is ideal for highly skilled welders with extensive experience in shipbuilding, power plant construction, bridge construction, or large-scale commercial construction environments. If you are a seasoned welder with strong technical knowledge and a commitment to safety and quality, we want to hear from you!
Position Overview:
As a Journeyman Welder with an active clearance, this role requires in-depth knowledge of welding procedures, blueprint interpretation, and strict adherence to safety standards. You will work with multiple welding processes, including SMAW, FCAW, and GTAW, ensuring all welds meet applicable codes, specifications, and quality requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
โ€ข Perform welding tasks in heavy industrial environments such as shipbuilding, power plants, bridge construction, and commercial construction sites
โ€ข Utilize proper welding techniques and procedures to produce high-quality welds
โ€ข Read and interpret blueprints, layouts, and welding symbols accurately
โ€ข Set up and operate grinding containments and welding equipment safely
โ€ข Perform welding using SMAW, FCAW (automatic), and GTAW processes
โ€ข Follow OSHA safety regulations and site-specific safety requirements
โ€ข Maintain accurate documentation related to welding activities and inspections
โ€ข Work efficiently while maintaining high standards of craftsmanship and safety
Qualifications & Experience:
โ€ข Minimum six (6) years of verifiable welding experience in heavy industrial applications
โ€ข Proven experience in shipbuilding, power plant construction, bridge construction, or commercial building construction
โ€ข Proficient in Submerged Metal Arc Welding (SMAW), Flux-Core Automatic Welding (FCAW), and Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (GTAW)
โ€ข Strong knowledge of welding best practices and quality control standards
โ€ข Skilled in blueprint reading, layout procedures, and welding symbol interpretation
โ€ข Experience with grinding containments and related equipment
โ€ข OSHA 10 and/or OSHA 30 certification required
โ€ข High School Diploma, Vocational School Diploma, or GED required
โ€ข Completion of a formal welding training program preferred (apprenticeship, technical school, military training, or formal company program)
โ€ข U.S. Citizen with an active or eligible Secret Security Clearance
