AC Corporation is looking for an experienced Welder to join our Fabrication team in Raleigh, NC.
This is a hands-on welding and fabrication position for someone who enjoys building things and takes pride in quality work. You'll use MIG, TIG, and Stick welding while working with a variety of metals to fabricate custom equipment and components.
This isn't a production-line welding job. Our welders work from drawings, take measurements, cut and form material, and help build products from start to finish.
What You'll Do
  • Read blueprints to create cut list and material needed.
  • Pull material from stock
  • Cut, bend, fit and tack
  • Clean up welds (wire brush/grinders)
  • Operate shear, press brakes, rollers, etc.
  • May use forklift to move material
  • Maintain a clean work environment

Qualifications
  • Must have at least 2 years of TIG/MIG welding (stainless steel & aluminum a plus)
  • Must have worked in a sheet metal shop
  • Knowledge of weld symbols
  • Must have at least 2 years of metal fabrication experience
  • Understand blueprints/drawings
  • Ability to follow detailed instructions
  • Can-do attitude

Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand for extended periods
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Frequent walking, bending, and squatting
  • Ability to work in both hot and cold shop environments
  • Ability to safely wear required PPE, including welding helmet, safety glasses, hearing protection, and protective gloves

Our Fabrication team works on a variety of custom products and projects, including:
  • Ductwork
  • Scrubbers
  • Pipe stands
  • Fan bases
  • Platforms and permanent ladders
  • Mezzanines
  • Handrails
  • Other custom-fabricated metal components
